because most recipes and mixes I've tried that replace traditional baked good have not given pleasant results
I ordered this mix on a whim, simply because I've been on the Ketogenic Diet for a year and four months....and well, I MISS donuts!! Lol! Anyway, I wasn't expecting much, because most recipes and mixes I've tried that replace traditional baked good have not given pleasant results. However, I was greatly impressed with this mix! This company seems to have done their research to combine the correct ratios of ingredients which produce a result as close to traditional cake donuts as possible. The mix directions were easy to follow, the batter was very simple to put together. I used a ziplock bag to pipe the batter into my donut pan, which created the perfect donut shape. I baked them to a slightly UNDERdone state, then allowed them to cool. I then fried them in coconut oil to get that crispy outside donut layer. Allowed to cool again. Then I made a homemade keto-friendly pastry glaze out of heavy cream and swerve. Dipped both sides of the donuts in the glaze and allowed the glaze to set. Seriously, these were SO GOOD! The process I took was a little more work than I would normally do, but what can I say, I was desperate for a good cake donut. Lol! Like seriously, it was so worth it, because these were SO GOOD! I ended up eating THREE of these donuts in one day! Lol! I put the last few donuts in the fridge for storage, and ate another one last night for a snack. Again, very yummy....even cold!Company Feedback/Request: Diabetic Kitchen, please PLEASE make this mix in a plain vanilla flavor (without the cinnamon) so I can play around with making other flavors of donuts! Pretty please?!? With sugar on top?!? Lol!

Not worth the cost
I have been on the keto diet for 4 months and I really miss bakery sweets so when I saw the good reviews for this product I threw caution (and $14) to the wind and ordered the mix. The recipe is very easy and only requires a few simple ingredients. While baking these smelled amazing - I could hardly wait to try them. I made a cinnamon and swerve "sugar" topping and dipped the tops in right when they came out of the oven. So, now to the taste - this is where the three stars come in.... the texture is great, not like most baked goods that use almond flour and have a corn bread texture. The cinnamon flavor is very bland so I would recommend adding a few dashes into the batter first and there is a distinct aftertaste with this mix and it's hard to get over, I think it's from the sweetener. Without the "sugar" topping these muffins would be almost tasteless. Overall I find this to be too expensive for the quality of the finished product.

These were satisfying
I judge these with the awareness they are not going to be the same as regular donuts. The best thing about these is the fact that they don't require many ingredients at all. All I needed was butter, Greek yogurt and eggs which I happen to have all these things on hand. You simply mix all the wet ingredients together and then add them to the dry mix. You scoop them up with a small ice cream scoop and put them into your pan. I didn't have a donut pan so I used a silicone muffin pan. With a silicone muffin pan you don't need any sort of wrapper or spray because they're not going to stick, this keeps the calories down. These turned out super moist and they have that slightly crunchy top, the texture was very satisfying. Now I could tell that they didn't have actual sugar in them, but if you have a topping that really helps and basically brings it home for you. All you need is something like sugar free whipped cream or Halo ice cream and you're all set. I had mine with Cafe Du Monde coffee and it really helped to satisfy me. Another good thing is they helped me to feel full but I do think you need to eat two realistically because they're small at about 2 tablespoons each. However if you do have a topping just one would be filling. If you make these as a donut they have that cake donut texture. I am very happy with this product because it tastes good for a sugar-free product, and has the right texture and it's super easy to make. As you can see I took a bite out of one of the muffins that are pictured, but you get an idea of the texture inside.

I have been on the Keto diet for 2 months now and really like it. When I saw this mix I had my doubts. There have been some recipes and things that people rave about and they are awful. But not this. These really are good doughnuts, I think if you didn't tell anyone they would easily pass for cake doughnuts. I melted dark chocolate and piped on some and dipped the others in a cinnamon "sugar" mix. My husband even loved them and we fought over the last doughnut!

Finally something decent
My kids have been really missing baked goods since we started low carb/keto. All the almond flour/coconut flour/mozzarella cheese recipes have left us unsatisfied. I threw this recipe together just before the kids got home from school. I made them into muffins since I don't have a donut pan. They are GREAT! My kids devoured them and fought over the last one. I dipped the muffin tops in melted butter and a mixture of Swerve & cinnamon. So happy I decided to try these. The outside is crispy and the inside is so tender and fluffy.

Delicious and Simple to Make
This was delicious. Easy to follow instructions & quick to make. I'm on keto diet and one donut yields a total of 153 calories, 8g fat, 2.5g net carbs, 3.8g protein (including all other ingredients). Donut tray was also easy to clean afterwards. Can't wait to try the other mixes!

Tasted more like bland, bran muffins rather than doughnuts
One of the hardest things to give up for me when going to a diabetic-friendly diet was doughnuts. I was overjoyed to see a doughnut mix that was low sugar and low carb, but was disappointed with the results. It tastes nothing like doughnuts and the taste really isn't all that great. It had a bran-flake-like texture (really grainy and heavy) and there is a clear aftertaste of the no-sugar alternative ingredients. There wasn't a ton of flavor, either - rather bland. So sad. This mix would make for okay (not fabulous) muffins, but definitely not doughnuts. I will continue my quest for a low-sugar/low-carb doughnut alternative.

Very Bitter Aftertaste. The Stevia Ruins It.
Bitter aftertaste that stays with you well after you're done. And it's far too bland to be called a donut. Maybe it can be called sweet bread? But the excess of stevia really ruins it. Stevia shouldn't be a part of anything with cinnamon at all. It's really obvious and stands out
