Enables local backup of all files (music, video, docs, etc...)1st time sync took several hours, but so far works as expected.

Simple to setup and use on both PC and IPad. It’s nice having simple a back up.

I love the idea of a local backup drive that seamlessly backs up photos from my phone. The setup is simple. You plug the BeeDrive into your computer, change your power settings so the computer never sleeps or hibernates, install the app, and configure your account. Then you install the app on your phone(s), scan the QR code on your computer, and wait for the first backup to finish. The software is relatively basic, but it also has some options to backup or sync folders between computers, and it has some sharing features that I haven't really used.The best feature is that you can backup remotely without even being on the same network. For the first few weeks I was pretty happy with my BeeDrive. I had actually purchased it for my mother, and wanted to try it out myself to make sure it would work well for her. I'm glad I tried it first, because unfortunately it's been a huge disappointment.The BeeDrive is frequently rendered ineffective as an automatic set-it-and-forget-it backup solution. As a result, my backups are not even working most of the time until I go fix them again and again. Every time Windows updates and reboots, the BeeDrive app on your laptop is obviously shut down, and doesn't start back up until you log in. Besides that, the BeeDrive app itself sometimes updates, and requires user intervention to start backing up again. Maybe if you use your computer every day and can babysit the app, this is an ok solution. But it doesn't work very well for my family.I really wanted to like this, because it's a lot cheaper than setting up a DiskStation. Had I known that Synology was going to also come out with a BeeStation, I would have tried that instead. But as it stands, I've already been burned by one Synology Bee product, and they're more expensive than competing backup drives. You're paying a premium for Synology's software bundled with the drive, but and the experience unfortunately isn't good enough to justify that premium.

The SSD itself is pretty great. Fast, lots of reserved NAND memory, high TBW rating; great drive.The software is the literal worst piece of software I have ever seen released by a large company. Here are some guarantees:- you WILL lose backed up data because the BeeDrive desktop software will forget about some of your folders- if you have to reinstall or update the desktop software, you lose the backup for that PC and have to start over from scratch- every single person i've talked to in support has about as much technical knowledge as a box of sand- Synology sucks.If you want a good drive, here it is. But save your sanity and NEVER install the desktop software. It's useless as a backup system.

Works great, the setup is a bit funky but doable. I no longer need to have Dropbox remind me my storage is full and that I need to spend more money with them.

Great idea in a very small package - and fast. This is a new product from Synology and there were some issues in finding the USB connection but eventually worked them out. One of the deficiencies is the documentation - pretty basic and, I believe, assumes experience in maintaining backups. Expanded scenarios to explain the best way to employ would help.

Un producto que me ha encantado, realmente su software una maravilla, imagínate conectar un disco externo y que sincronice tus archivos al momento de conectarse, Tanto de tu cel como de tu computadora sin que tengas tu que hacer esa parte tediosa. No entiendo los pocos comentarios negativos respecto al beedrive de otros usuarios. Pero para mí punto de vista una maravilla. Synology genial!!!Para los que tienen un Nas realmente no lo necesitan. Pero si gustan de tener varios backup también es una excelente opción.

The product looks very sleek and works ok (not too fast). The beedrop feature is not a huge feature, especially if you have Apple products.I decided to return it and purchased a BeeStation which will serve my purpose better.Amazon return is subpar. The return was dropped off on February 20th in Vancouver, BC, and on March 4th, it still did not arrive to New Westminster, BC (only a few kilometers away).
