Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Dog Food Wet Classic Pate Salmon and Rice Entrée - (Pack of 12) 13 oz. Cans

We feed our GSD the kibble form of this mostly. But, some days he's a little finicky. While he refuses the kibble, he never refuses this wet version. He loves the taste and texture, and enjoys the same benefits on his coat, skin, and sensitive stomach. It's high quality, and somewhat expensive as a result (the only real downside). It also is somewhat grey in appearance. Which is fine, but initially, I wondered if the can had spoiled (was expecting it to be brown).

I have 3 dogs, 2 of which have stomach issues. All three dogs like this food and it is well tolerated by all. It is a pate, so, more of a paste consistency and not chunks or nibbles. It costs a little less than Science Diet, which is helpful.

My vet told me years to go put my dog on this, and I’m so glad I did. Since then, she’s had no more skin or tummy issues. She acts like she’s obsessed with it so I assume she likes it. Vet always says it’s the best brand, so that’s what I go for.

My dog was eating it for about a month and a half, and then refused it. Maybe he just got tired of it. He only weighs 9 lb and it requires him to eat almost a whole can a day, so it can get a little expensive.I think it's a good product though, and I like that Purina offers a healthy wet salmon.

My rescue dog has multiple allergies - most notably chicken. Chicken is in almost every treat and dog food - hard to believe. Maple has been eating hypoallergenic dry food - prohibitive cost.Normal appearance for dog food, very economical . The moment I opened the can - she came running , She eats it with a combo of dry food and loves it! Size of the can is perfect - usually get three meals . No Chicken + no reaction = pone very happy dog. You can't go wrong. The Best !

After some skin issues with my dog (Australian Cattle Dog mix), my vet said to try staying away completely from chicken - I have learned that is easier said than done as it is an ingredient that is often not in the "name" of a dog food, but you can find it on the list of ingredients. I've been feeding her the Purina Pro Salmon dry food for quite awhile with good results. I always mix a couple of tablespoons of canned food with the dry, suddenly she she started having GI issues, diarrhea. I stopped with the salmon canned food, but have continued with the Purina Pro salmon dry food and a little pumpkin mixed in. After a couple of days, everything seems to be back to normal. By the way, my vet endorses the Purina Pro line as do I.do, their dedication to laboratory and years of research are important.

The texture and smell are terrible. I was looking for a dog food without chicken, very hard to do. I found this thinking it would be great. I had to buy a case because that was the only available way to buy it on Amazon. I used 1 can and ended up donating it to my local shelter. The texture is something like a very mushy loose oatmeal. When my dog was done eating, his nose was covered in it, there was no way of him eating it without wearing it.

Our local stores don't sell just the salmon and Rice canned food unless sold individually. Our pups are very sensitive to chicken and have always maintained good results when using PPP Salmon and Rice. The price is good (cheaper than individually sold) and delivery saves me so much time
