We had limited space on the outside. Exactly the width of the "normal" deadbolt which is 2.6". This is the only unit that would fit in that space so we purchased.There are a number of quirks, and the most irritating is the outside locking mechanism which requires you to place your palm on the reader, wait for it light up, then hold a key until it locks. This is 3 quite annoying movements rather than the usual single button press. I hope they put a physical button on that fixes that. Other than that, the lock works perfectly and the fingerprint reader is actually surprisingly cool.Each person has their own code so if one is compromised you can just remove it. And you can provide one to the sitter that you can remove when necessary. Etc. Overall, I prefer the kwikset or Schlage if you have the space, but if you don't then this one will work fine.Also not a fan of the "black" outside which clashes with most doors.

Base model door lock; but it’s easy to use and install.The finger print works every time. Had one prior that was very moisture sensitive. This one is not. It’s great.

I already love Philips products and this works really nicely. easier to set up than to install but nonetheless would recommend. seems to last for a long time.

Despite being called a 'smart device' this flat out is not. I'm returning it as soon as Amazon delivers a new, actual 'smart' deadbolt to me. It cannot connect to WiFi or Bluetooth, so it has not remote control capability, and it can't give you the current status of the lock or any standard smart functions. It's just an overpriced fancy deadbolt. But for what it is, installation was easy and it functions

It's okay, does the job. But, to lock the door after leaving, sometimes you gotta hold a number down 2 or 3 times before it locks. Sucks when it's raining or it's cold. I kind of wish I went with a wifi lock for that reason.
