Useful addition to a canteen set.
I bought this lid to go with a stainless steel reproduction of the 1919 pattern canteen set (the one with the folding and locking handle'd cup). This lid is actually a bit too big for that cup and does not clip onto its rim. My best guess is that it is actually for the larger 1965 pattern version with butterfly handles. However, it is still effective at reducing boil and cooking times as well as keeping ash out of the cup when cooking on a fire even though it doesn't fit my cup properly. It fits in the back of the canteen pouch and lives there for whenever I boil water or cook in the cup. I would recommend this as an addition to either kit and especially the 65 pattern it appears to be intended for.
