An Artist's Thought Book: Intriguing Thoughts about the Artistic Process by Richard Bargdill (Second Edition) Paperback – May 27, 2014

A helpful guide for artists who want to become more aware of the process of practicing their art. I read the book slowly, go back to passages, negotiate some of the thoughts, share the ruminations with others. Some of the perspectives offered were entirely new to me and have led me to reflect on the process more carefully. I have given the book to young artists so that they will hopefully make the process of reflection a habit.

I went into this book not really considering myself an artist, as i read on though i kept finding maxims that i would flag and that i could relate to. By the end a passion to be more artistic through the traditional mediums had grown, but so had my desire to be more artistic in my day to day life. This was truly a great read and one that I would recommend to artists and those who don't yet consider themselves artists.

Bargdill's "An Artist's Thought Book" is a great book to get the creative juices flowing. Its easy to just thumb through this book for inspiration or great little quotes about creativity and creating art.
