Workbench Ruler Adhesive Backed Tape Measure - Left to Right - 40 Inches 101 Centimeters (Inches/CM Right to Left)

The tape measure is perfectly sized, not too big or small. It's easy to read. The adhesive is questionable. I'm not sure how long it'll last. It's not very sticky.

I recently bought an industrial sewing machine which, unlike the ones I had used before, did not come with a ruler on the table. Okay, no big deal, right? Well, almost.I used a couple quilting rulers I had laying around, which mostly worked, except for two main issues: the extra time to pull out the right one (and make sure it isn’t upside-down or backwards!); and none were long enough to measure a completed garment for sizing. I was spending too much time shuffling rulers and not enough time sewing.This adhesive-backed measuring tape is exactly the solution I was looking for. At 40”, the length is perfect for my table. It’s also just over both a yard and a meter, more than enough for seams and finished garments.I’ve added a few photos to show how well it works, including one with an acrylic ruler on top to compare accuracy.I don’t know how well this will hold up over time, but I don’t foresee any issues.

I do a lot of card making, knitting, crochet projects and needed a quick way to measure things without looking for, or fighting with, yard sticks and other spring loaded tapes. I applied this tape to a work table and pressed it down firmly with old credit card. Voila!

Used this 40” on the aluminum side rail of a Grizzly boat dock section, for measuring fish. I cleaned the aluminum top side-rail of a 4’x10’ pier section directly in front of the bench. I then centered the tape length to the bench, and proceeded to install it down the middle of the rail. It was easy, looks great, and will keep us from having to run to the dock-box to retrieve a wooden yard stick. They really ought to think about cross purpose marketing. We’ll see if it’s as weatherproof as advertised?!

This tape is accurate out to the full length of 40 inches. It sticks fine to clean gelcoat on my boat. I do not know yet about durability -- time will tell. It is packaged well (rolled up like a roll of stamps and protected in a plastic, snap-lid container). Just roll it out flat and weight it down for 20 minutes and it will not curl back up on itself. Then remove the backing and apply to cleaned surface (will not stick well to textured surfaces). Because it is opaque, you can add a touch of glue to the ends if it ever tries to lift up (can't glue the transparent ones -- looks bad). Buy this one.

Comes very well packaged (coiled in a hard plastic container). Sticks well. I read comments about it's accuracy, but as one reviewer indicated, it will stretch when you install it if you pull on it. If you just lay it out and stick it down it is REASONABLY accurate. It agrees with my 1 meter steel rule right to the end. Aside from that, this is a ruler you're going to use as a quick reference; if micro measurement is crucial, you're probably not going to use this kind of tape anyway. It is a handy tool for a quick measurement that is always there when you need it, unlike the tape measure that is around here somewhere : ) . I'm very happy with this product. Recommended.

I tried to use this on my saw mill for measuring the distance from the saw blade to the bunks. The tape was stuck to the magnetic ruler. When the sun hit the tape, the tape buckled and pulled away from the magnetic ruler that I stuck the tape to.
