This really works
So far, this is working for our 3 (almost 4) year old daughter. She started potty training around 39 months and never had much trouble going pee, but still hasn't mastered pooping in the potty. She started holding in her poop, which quickly evolved into dry/hard poop, skid marks, flakes, etc. We really knew there was a problem when she started pooping in her pants almost daily, seemingly unaware that it was even happening. She hasn't had much of an issue with pee accidents, but still wears a pull-up at night. After going through Miralax hell with an older child, I was willing to try anything else EXCEPT Miralax. Interestingly enough, our daughter actual eats a very healthy/balanced diet. She loves fruits, veggies and whole grains, and probably eats healthier than most 3 year olds. She has never had any sort of fast food, and we avoid processed foods like the plague. Yet, she still became constipated! We are on day 21 of this protocol, and she has only had 2 poop accidents since we started! She hasn't had any skid marks, her poops are nice and soft, and wiping is a breeze. So far, she hasn't been able to poop on her own without the enemas, but I will follow the course, and hope that happens sometime in the near future. We are giving her Natural Vitality Mag Citrate gummies instead of Miralax and they seem to be working wonderfully. Her poop is nice and soft. My only reservation is that we didn't get our doctor onboard, and I feel somewhat uncomfortable carrying out the trial/error method without personalized guidance. The book provides a nice framework, but it gets somewhat confusing when you start to take into consideration all of the possible variations in outcomes/symptoms from one child to the next. I would like to have my daughter x-rayed to see where we are at, and whether we need to make any changes to optimize her results. There aren't any providers in our State on the provider locator tool from their website. We will give it a little more time, but I would be willing to drive to another State to have her seen and get to the bottom of this once and for all. I should add that the enemas are not at all traumatizing for her! She definitely fussed about it for the first week or so (including full on fits for the first 3 nights), but now she actually reminds me that it's time for her treatment. She feels so much better, and is a happier kid! I let her play ABC Mouse on my iPad while she's sitting on the potty, which is a huge motivator for her. I also read Dr. Hodges "It's No Accident" and introduced the concept to our daughter by reading "Jane and the Giant Poop" and "Bedwetting and Accident's Aren't Your Fault" to her numerous times before we started the treatments. The books are great, and they helped our very young daughter to fully understand what is happening in her body, and how we are trying to correct it.

Excellent resource for treating pee/poop accidents and bedwetting
If you and your family are dealing with any pee or poop accidents, you should get this book and start the treatment immediately! Don't listen to any doctors who say "oh they will outgrow these things" as they are dead wrong and take things into your hands although it might feel a bit scary at first. What's suggested in this book is safe and has been tested and the book goes into details how to do and what to do. If you are interested in talking to your doctors about this, there is a free manual for medical professionals too that Dr. Hodges wrote. Your doctors can eliminate any other more serious conditions (like spinal issues, etc.) but most cases are due to constipation.I cannot thank Dr. Hodges enough for his kind help for our family for the past few years. I have a 9-year old who's turned out to be a very severe case and when he was 5, we found out he was constipated as he started having pee/poop accidents during the day! We had to go through a few of doctors and specialists (who all underestimated constipation and did not provide any solution that actually worked) before finding out about Dr. Hodge's first book. It was a savior! My son's day time issues subsided slowly over several months following MOP. Back then, there was no manual like this book nor his FB group, so it was much harder to figure all details out but Dr. Hodges was so kind to provide guidance remotely via emails. Over the years, things got more organized thanks to his and Suzanne Schosberg's hard work and now more people can access the needed information in one place!!It seems some readers were upset that this book is not free because some of the information was offered free previously. However, I feel that is totally unfair, given the amount of work and time that they have spent to come up with this type of comprehensive manual. It is also clear they are very dedicated to help families like ours over the years literally for free (or way beyond any small fees that they charged). As community that they reach grows everyday, they cannot possibly provide free service to everyone. It's not possible or expected. There are a lot of free information still available on their website. But if you want to have a comprehensive manual in your hand, this book will be the one. I also would recommend to pay to be part of the FB group (you can join on a monthly basis) to ask more detailed specific questions if your kids are struggling to make progress. Be patient though. It might take a long time like our case. I believe a lot of cases are solved within a few months to a year, but we are still struggling with bed wetting (which is last issue to get better in general). I also started the MOP with my 4 year old, who's seeing constant dry nights finally after a year. Good luck with your journey. Stick with the protocol for a couple of months and you will see a change for sure!

Very detailed instructions on how to deal with wee and poo accidents
A very detailed book which explains the causes and possible solutions for poo and week accidents.I have shared the information in the book with GP, paediatrician, consultant, teachers, SENCO. It is shocking how such a common medical issue is so misunderstood in this country! I wish I'd bought this book 3 years ago, as if I'd had this information I believe we could have dealt with it before behaviour became ingrained, it would have saved us years of stress and cleaning up!

Best book for this problem
I found this book quite by accident, but what a life saver. This book deals with the very sensitive subject of children, and teenagers who have poop soiling their undergarments without realizing it.The book is very detailed about what is causing the issue and exactly how to solve the problem.I was so relieved to finally have actionable information and it has helped tremendously and I would absolutely recommend this book for the explanation of what is occurring physically and how to implement the solution. This book is written by physicians at Cedar Sinai hospital in California.

A very good resource if your child is suffering from encopresis or enuresis
At first I thought it was a bit expensive. But the colourful illustrations are too cute to explain to a young one. It made the potty topic easier to discuss with my children. And made some of my anxieties disappear. I bought it to get a clearer picture, I've already bought Soiling Solutions clean kid manual. To take my child on board was a big problem, which thanks to the m.o.p, is not that much big a problem now.

Our family is deeply grateful to Dr. Hodges and his team for the books and other resources. These have been lifelines for us. As parents of a 7 year old child with encopresis, we have been through absolute hell over the past four years. After trying to address day and night accidents with our family doctor, pediatrician and a pediatric GI specialist we got nowhere. We are currently doing the MOP program and are starting to see results. Daytime accidents have stopped and we've had a few dry nights as well.Parents like us are desperate to help their children and in my experience, Dr. Hodges is the only advocate actually helping families going through this.
