Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ Bluetooth OBD II Scanner for iOS & Android, Car Check Engine Code Reader Wireless OBD Diagnostic Scan Tool

I've been extremely impressed with this Bluetooth OBD-II scanner. Pairing it with my phone was quick and easy, and it has been reliable every time I've used it. Combined with a good diagnostic app, it provides access to much more information than simply reading and clearing trouble codes. Being able to monitor live data has helped me better understand what my vehicle is doing and make more informed repair decisions. It's compact enough to keep in the glove compartment, connects quickly, and has performed flawlessly every time I've needed it. If you like maintaining your own vehicle or want to understand a check engine light before going to a repair shop, this scanner is an excellent investment. It can help you diagnose problems, verify repairs, and potentially save both time and money. I would absolutely buy it again.

I use this device on my 2007 Suburban along with the Car Scanner app that I got from the App Store. It connects seamlessly everytime I need to use it. It not only reads codes, but I can clear them through the app when I've seen them. Functions perfectly.

Easy to use, just plug it in. Worked for my 2025 Jeep Gladiator and 2020 BMW M2. On the Gladiator I reset the halogen lights to LED and on the BMW I was able to "register" my new battery. Saved me alot of money from paying dealer. Works with JScan (iPhone) on the Jeep and with BimmerLink on the BMW. Recommended.

Works week with Ram Promaster 1500 van. Took a bit to get it connected, but after that reliable. Doesn’t seem to drain the battery to leave in all the time. Would be nicer if it had an altitude reading, my last one did and I didn’t realize that wasn’t a standard engine reading. Use it for a digital speedometer on 2019 van

Works perfectly and meets all of my expectations

So I used this device to re-code the ECU/ECM on my 2013 Mini Cooper (R56). For that purpose it worked great. I was able to edit the ECU and unlock a number of features. For example, in the stock configuration double clicking and then holding the unlock button on the remote will wind the windows down from the key fob. However there’s no way to roll the windows back up from the fob. I was able to change the roll down function to pressing and holding unlock just once, and enabled the window roll up feature by pressing and holding the lock button on the fob. I was also able to disable the seatbelt chime for the passenger front seat since that’s where my dog sits and it was incredibly annoying to have that going off the whole time she was up front. Next, I was able to enable some cool lighting features. For example, I enabled a module in BimmerCode that keeps my fog lights on while the high beams are on or while they’re flashed. I was also able to turn off hot and cold bulb warnings for a couple of lights (I have a modded rear bumber with fog lights from the JCW so I needed this to prevent errors from showing). Finally, I made a few changes for quality of life. I turned off the seatbelt chime for the driver seat since I always wear it and the constant reminder was just a little annoying. I enabled the option to automatically fold in the mirrors when locking the car, enabled the mirror to tilt downwards when putting the car in to reverse, adjusted the digital speedometer to show an accurate measurement instead of the slightly modified number BMW shows with the factory settings, and a few other relatively simple changes like that. I never had any issues with connectivity or any other problems with the Veepeak device. It worked flawlessly through all of this re-coding. From what I understand this device will also work with apps like “Torque” where you can connect to a tablet and show gauges like coolant temp, oil pressure, etc., right through the tablet. I believe you can also read codes through it as well with the right app as BimmerCode is able to clear any codes with every re-code. So there’s a wide range of what’s available to you with this device as long as you get the right apps. From what I’ve seen in my personal experience, there’s no reason to buy the more expensive options when the majority of your costs are going to come from the app purchases you’ll need to make anyway. Also, some people have complained that the Bluetooth devices or Bluetooth low energy devices like this have a problem with data transfer speed. I personally didn’t see a problem there. Re-coding was quite fast and I doubt the WiFi versions are any faster as I believe the bandwidth bottleneck is with the ECU/ECM and not with the transfer protocol itself (Bluetooth/BLE/WiFi).

I used this unit on a 2019 4Runner, paired with CaristaOBD app (subscription based - on their app, this Veepeak unit is listed as "Kiwi3"). After plugging it in, the blue LED illuminated, signifying it has power. Using the app made connection, setup, & use a *breeze (it connected as fast, if not faster than my phone does to the car stereo). I was EASILY able to address all the items I sought the pair for. The best thing about this Veepeak, is that I don't have to 'marry' any single app, in fact, there's plenty of free & even better - 1-time-purchase apps that fully utilize the Veepeaks specs. It handles everything from the customization options that Carista offers, to the more DIY mechanic oriented stats of something like AlfaOBD (older vehicles) or OBD Fusion (more modern). The Veepeak is very small, comes with a rugged box, & can be swapped to multiple vehicles in seconds. This unit punches well above its pricetag.

Neat little dongle that works well. I had no issues linking it to my android phone and read our cars data. A BMW and a Peugeot. But be aware: if you want to change or reset any car settings then you need to purchase a good app. The free apps only read the car codes and then AI tells you what they mean.

Amazing piece of kit. Works flawlessly. Quick and easy connection and gave me the readings I nneeded. Also shows live data while I drive, which i needed to keep an eye on. Had engine coolant light come on but was not sure what it was. This told me exact problem I had. Replaced the faulty part, cleared the codes and can drive peacefully without worrying about that dashboard light. It even checks the lifespan of the hybrid battery. For a price of one diagnosticsin a garage I can do many more myself. Amazing.

Veeery nice! I also like the free application (Car Scanner) suggested by the QR code inside the OBD plastic box. I used the OBD to clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes that had caused the 'engine fault' light to stay on permanently on my motorbike dashboard. Initially, I did not understand the procedure and tried to connect my iPhone's Bluetooth to the OBD, but was unsuccessful. The correct procedure is to go to the 'Car Scanner' settings and select the Bluetooth as as the connection method for the iPhone and OBD. I turned on the ignition and I started the engine. After these steps, I managed to connect the OBD and it worked perfectly.
