I've previously used cleats to hang heavier paintings. I used this one to attach a metal utility sink to the wall. The back edge of the sink fit perfectly into the cleat. I was able to hit 1 stud at one end and used a wall anchor at the other. It worked perfectly. These are well made, smooth, and easy to work with.

I needed this for an art installation. The piece arrived in great condition, no damage, and very substantial. I fully expected to use it to mount onto a piece of wood to hang several art pieces from it. Though it didn't end up working out for the way I needed to display my work, I kept it because I can use it for something else later.

This aluminum French clip is robustly manufactured & allowed for my need to slightly modify bilateral hole positions (for alinement on studs). Hardware included two screws sizes & plastic anchors.

I made a Shadowbox for a few of my associated retirement items. The wood was salvaged from the top deck of the Historic US Submarine, USS Nautilus - SSN 571. Needless to say, the wood is very dense, making it not only difficult to work with, but quite heavy as well. The box weighs in at a 18 lb's - 7 oz's, so I needed a good sturdy means of support if I was planning to hang it, rather than set it on a shelf. Since I have other retirement items to display alongside as well, I decided to hang it.The French Cleat seemed to be the ideal solution, so after a fairly thorough search, I decided on this one.The box itself is 28 inches wide, so the 17" cleat was all I needed to get me on a stud.Super simple to set and install, and the box only sits about 1/4" (6.5mm) of the wall at the top.I have a large 5 foot wide picture to hang for a friend, so I will be using a larger set there. This is the one however, very well made. I would most definitely recommend this kit.

I had a 6foot wide 13 paneled mirror I wanted over a mantel but doubted the ability of the 2 keyhole hangars to be where a stud was and hold. Ordered this French cleat (17in rated for 150lbs), I have woodpaneled walls over drywall. Found the stud,little level included was great. It clicked right in and hangs a week late with no issues. It has been cleaned and wiggled around (on purpose) to test its strength. It's perfect. Couldn't believe a 17in steel bar could hold the 6ft by 40in mirror but it sure does!
