How long does it stay hot

It stays warm for about 30mins used it on my shoulder after an operation at the beginning of the year and it helped a lot

is this item suitable for an aeroplane?

as it's a gel filling, you won't be allowed it into the cabin area without a medical certificate saying you need it in frozen format. I have traveled with them in hold luggage (unfrozen) to use on holiday, but please note if you have more than one they do add some weight if you have a tight allowance.
