I bought this as a beginner kit for getting into fly tying, and it's mostly good. The bobbin especially works well. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but it holds the thread well and does not fray it. The bobbin threader is fine, and the scissors are nice and sharp. The bodkin is sharp and straight, and the hackle pliers have good tension and work well.The only two drawbacks are that the whip finisher is not good (too small and angled badly) and the hair stacker has a divot at the bottom that causes hair to be stacked with a slight bump in the middle.The case is pretty nice and the zipper works well. For a beginner's set, it's a good deal.

These items are going to be used for a fishing program at our park. One of the tool kits was missing 1 tool, the hackle pliers. I cannot figure out how to contact the seller. I got an email back from them and they fixed the problem, nice seller!

Basic, first-timer tools. The pack I ordered did not contain a bodkin. I'm apparently not allowed to say any more about that. Did not return as it was a gift and my friend didn't care about the bodkin.

This kit is perfect to take to the campsite for tying flies during a fishing trip!

My 12 yr old grandson likes and uses these tools to make his own fishing flies.

Noticed reviews where random tools were missing. A beginner needs the advertised tools!
