Amazing book, starts with deep learning fundamentals, then goes into generative in depth. Worked out examples using Keras and TensorFlow, full code on github. And even the refresher on stats/probability when needed. Super !!

This book was incredible! I followed along and in the course of about a week was able to make my own versions of each of the models described. From GAN to GPT like models! It was general enough that I was able to adapt it to my own specific problems Without having to rely on the examples given in the book. An excellent value for someone who wants to get up and running on their own generative models quickly. Warning: you will need some good GPU time for lots of the examples, I recommend Google Colab!

The media could not be loaded. This is one of the best book I have been reading on the topic. It makes the concept really easy to understand. You can feel like the concept are getting inside you without effort or boring stories that make the reader feel a bit lost. 5 stars! What a gem of book!

The material is well presented with a good mix of explanation and little stories that help explain how various architectures work, and followed up with code and more mathematical detail. Coming from a computer science background and knowing a little about neural nets I felt I was able to follow along and grasp the ideas due to the authors efforts at presenting the material in a careful order building up to the more complex architectures.I had to deduct a point for the poor formatting of the mathematical formulas in this book. I thought it might just be a Kindle thing, but checked the paper copy too and its not really massively better there. Hopefully a newer edition can spend more time on the typesetting.

I have read several books on deep learning before and found this book particularly an engaging and eye opening read. The way David uses stories and analogies to describe the intuition of various Gen AI methods is the best way to understand the underlying mechanisms.Some deep learning books tend to become too boring and academic fast! Not this one. The code is detailed and practical. I can exactly see how I can go about implementing the applications myself and experiment with them understanding what I’m doing.And the book comes in colour print and lots of diagrams and pictures which is a godsend for understanding all of the concepts and topics discussed in book.David has a done a great job with the visualisations and diagrams as most papers just leave you hanging with the lack of detail or extreme use of mathematical notations everywhere.By far this has been one of the most engaging books I’ve read in the past year or two. This is the hottest book on the hottest topic in AI.Get yourself this copy as it seems half the book was rewritten too to cover the latest trends and topics
