The drain top is easy to remove and put back on to clean. The finish on the metal has held up so far with daily use.

Both the drain and the overflow were an easy install. Of note, I do have the correct tool to remove the old drain which I'd replaced about a year ago. The overflow, two screws, easy. The drain, screwed the threaded brass adapter into the drain, put the rubber gasket that was supplied over that and under the tub, put some plumber's putty around the underside of the drain and then screwed and tightened that into the brass adapter and finally, screwed the push button stopper assembly into that. It was pretty much the easiest installation I've ever done (mostly because the old drain came out so easily). ;)We used to have a turn to open/close stopper and hated that it was constantly closing by itself when showering, this solves that problem, it looks great and it just works. We love the addition of the simple hair catcher and how easy it is to unscrew the top, clean it, and then put it back.

I am currently updating my bathroom and my old clawfoot tub is showing its years. I wanted to change out the overflow faceplate as well as the drain plug and this kit was just what I was looking for.My tub is very old and the old drain had rusted over, so was very difficult to remove, but once I got it out, this tip-toe drain stopper easily screwed right in and was a perfect fit.The black enamel looks very classy and makes my bathtub look modern while still maintaining its vintage charm.I am very happy with the look and quality of this drain kit, it was a great find.

I got this to replace the rusty old chrome drain in my jet tub. Getting the old one out without a special tool was difficult, but I was able to use needle nose pliers and then channel locks (for leverage) to get it out. After cleaning the threads a bit, I was able to screw in the new fitting. Then I screwed the top of the drain assembly in and tested to see if it was sealing properly, which it was!Not only does it function better, it looks so much better too. It also eliminated the lever that was previously used to stop the drain. Much cleaner look all around!
