Vostok Komandirskie 2414 Hand-Winding Mechanical Russian Military Mechanical Watch // 811171

Okay, so this is not an expensive watch: It's not waterproof, the "glass" is actually some form of acrylic, it's hand-wind only. And while it's built by a Russian military watch specialist, it's not a milspec device.But... despite all that, I like it very much. Its looks are a matter of taste, but I like them (slightly blingy but rugged, would be my summary). The plastic "glass" is actually pretty tough – no scratches so far, although I have to emphasize that I don't wear it around the house, only when I'm out and about. The strap isn't as robust as I'd like, but it's solid enough.The true gem in this simple watch, however, is the movement. I suspect Vostok use the same movement in their cheaper and more expensive watches, because it's lovely – the second hand moves in a more or less continuous sweep (no nasty, wobbly, one tick per second here); the date doesn't waver unhappily between one day and the next as midnight approaches, it clicks neatly over just as midnight happens. In that sense, the movement is *way* more sophisticated than what you find in most cheap mechanical watches.So yes, overall I'm very happy with it. I'll look to replace it eventually with a self-winding, waterproof, crystal-glass model, but that'll cost me a lot more than £40. So this does very nicely for the time being. Having decided not to wear electronics about my person, this is a pleasant piece of personal jewellery that looks good and does the (simple) job required of it.

I love this watch. I bought it after a friend told me about an old KGB watch he had, and how reliable and eye-catching it was. I had a look at various classic watches by Vostok, and this particular model caught my eye.This is the "Komandirskie" model by Vostok, and came all the way from Russia, so it did take a couple of weeks. It is indeed good looking, and grabs attention. The watch is mechanical, and the small leaflet said it is also "self-winding", although it is best to wind it a few times each day just to be sure.It did take a little while to figure out how to set the time and date, but after reading some reviews on amazon.com, it was easy. The dial is luminous, and you will notice it after being out in the sun. I kept the strap that came with this watch, although I did need to punch another hole for a tighter fit.This is a great watch. It keeps good time. It looks good, and is certainly worth the price. It does feel and look more expensive, and I would recommend Vostok watches to anybody looking for a classic, and unique timepiece.

This is a nice wristwatch, which has arrived today far ahead of schedule from the Russian Federation. The watch band is not bad at all. Thecwatch feels solid and it has a certain stylish charm. It takes some time to familiarise with the crown-down winding, setting the time and date, at least in my hands. Useful instructions in English were provided. Very much on time over the past hours, we'll see. I am very happy about it. Spaziba ! PS: regrettably, no chocolate bar I had read about in some other reviews.

This was my first mechanical watch and I love it. Overall works great. It did take a while to get here since it’s most likely shipping from Russia. My only complaint is the leather strap is not if great quality. But that can be changed somewhat easily.

Die Uhr an sich ist super! Doch das Auswahlkriterium ist auf diese Uhr gefallen weil in der produktebeschriebung „ Edelstahl Gehäuse“ steht. Und als die Uhr ankam musste ich feststellen das es verchromt ist.

Un peu cher ( mais bon difficilement trouvable en europe).
