Too much waffle and not enough substance.
I love Jimmy but after reading this book I've decided not to buy another Sports Autobiography until the person in question has retired from their chosen sport. The reason for this primarily is that this book is rather bland, the only person he really has a go at is Michael Vaughan, and this I assume is because he is now retired. There a complete chapters where nothing much is said. For example, the opening one is all about how 'he's not the traditional big build for a fast bowler'........I did find it rather exasperating. It picks up a bit half way through, but the last third is also weak...going into the mode of 'talking through games' too much. I've never scan read a final chapter in a book cos I found it boring, but here I did just that. Not a bad read for a teenage fan, but I found it a let down.

Honest story of the life of an international cricketer.
James Anderson comes across as a business like bowler there to do a job without time for nice chit chat with the opposition. His book reflects this as he speaks of his no nonsence approach to his cricket. The good times are mentioned namely winning the Ashes as well as the devastating 5 losses to the Australians in 2006/07. The lean times have certainly driven Jimmy to be come the best he can be. Plenty of humour as well to balance the long times away from home and family. All in all an excellent book from one of the world's premier fast bowlers of all time and to be enjoyed by all cricket fans worldwide.

I enjoyed it ..in most parts
Since I read this he's become the world leading test wicket taker. I claim no credit for this and to be truthful he's not the most amusing writer but for cricket fans and his record number of victims it's worth a read.

Recommended for any Cricket Fan
Brilliant read that is interesting throughout. Takes you through all of Jimmy Anderson's good and bad times in depth and with surprising honesty. I will watch him play in a different light now. It covers a lot of cricketing issues and tells you what it's like in the England dressing room. I would recommend to any Cricket Fan, it has something for everyone who watches or plays the game and is still a fine book for those who don't.

Reasonable read!
Fairly honest account of a career from Jimmy despite the obvious modern censorship from the ECB regime. Worth a read.

A beautiful book on the life of one of the greatest bowlers in the game today.
