The Best Aftermarket CarPlay System You Can Buy
I bought this for our 2014 Kia Soul and this is a much better and less expensive solution than ripping out the existing radio and installing a new CarPlay compatible head. Mounting the unit to the dashboard was super easy. I used the 1/8" Aux cable to connect the device to my radio and plugged into one of the 12v ports. The iPhone connects to the Carpuride wirelessly, so I don't have to plug in every time I get in the car. The system performs flawlessly -- even better than the OEM system in my Honda Accord. The touchscreen is very responsive and swiping is very smooth. I rarely have audio dropouts when listening to music, and it's usually when I have my phone in my back pocket.

ITS AWESOME!
Installed this in my 2012 Honda Civic Coupe. Wow! I’m loving this device. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and it has worked flawlessly. Setup was super easy. The mounts that it came with are very solid, made of good quality and gives you plenty of mounting options. I did end up using small screws to mount as my dashboard is slick and every type of adhesive tape that I tried did not stick well. The adaptive lighting is great! Sound quality is amazing. I do have it connected via Aux Cable for a more solid connection. I have my phone mounted next to the tablet and run a small usb cord from the tablet to my phone to keep my phone charged during driving. I wanted a custom boot logo and emailed the support team with my request. They promptly responded back, and I was able to load a custom boot logo onto the tablet. This was a great upgrade to my car. I was looking at options for installing Apple Carplay and having a more modern interface in my car but I was not willing to spend $1200 on a new system. This solved it for me at a great price. I did end up ordering the 2 USB Charger directly form Carpuride . I received it yesterday and replaced the original with this one so I would have more usb ports. The quality of the charger exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with my purchases and the quality of their products and great customer service.

Got a couple of quirks, but overall it's working as advertised.
I have a couple of older cars that lost connectivity due to the old 3G system going away. After the sticker shock when I asked about adding carplay on either vehicle, I did some research and found this one. It arrived really quickly and worked as soon as I plugged it in.As with all carplays I've used, the connection was a little twitchy at first, but once it settled down, it works great and is pretty quick. Best of all, I can use it in both cars (although I may buy a second unit for my other one.) and maybe the boat too. Only thing I'd recommend is use the dimensions and cut out a piece of paper to see how big it'll be on your dash. The 9" is a little large for what I needed, so I may just go with a 7" or even the 10.3 since they're both a little shorter.Couple of things I noticed:Some apps don't work unless they're active on the phone. Google maps and Waze are both a little finicky until they decide to cooperate, Audacy doesn't display anything and other apps can be a bit twitchy. Putting the phone in airplane mode for 5-10 seconds and reconnecting seems to help some of the time. The light sensor is on the back of the unit, so car headlights cause the screen to flair. I put tape over mine and just set it manually, but the sensor would be better placed on the front for a more accurate reading."Airplay" is a little difficult to get into, it's just finicky and sometimes lick up the unit requiring a hard restart.Going from wired to wireless sometimes fails requiring a hard start.Overall, can't really go wrong with this one. Definitely recommend.Additional notes (4/3/23): After our first long trip, we really liked the unit, but we did find a coupe of additional things:The FM signal is really weak. Even in an area with some open FM ranges, it didn't work well. The signal was scratchy and had a background hiss that was quite distracting. In town with the crowded spectrum it was basically useless, but an aux cable fixed that. The adhesive on the window bracket is STRONG. Expect to work to get the bracket off your window. I'm hoping the suction cup still holds that well after it wears off!

Does NOT play calls/texts thru car speakers
Bought this for apple car play. The tablet connects to the car via bluetooth and will play my music/audiobook through the car’s speakers. It looks like car play; I can side-by-side maps and music. HOWEVER when you are on a phone call, the mic and speaker switch to the tablet itself, and, at full volume, the sound is terrible. I can tell that there is a person on the other end trying to talk to me, and that’s about it. Similarly the mic is crap so the other end of the call can’t hear me either. Same problem with texting. I can tell the tablet who to text and what to say, she will repeat my message to confirm if its correct and i can’t hear her. If i receive a text, it will be read aloud from tablets speakers - can’t hear it.My bf is an engineer and he is astounded at the laziness of the engineering and that this product was recommending by car&driver. Anyways, we scoured reviews on yt and reddit, and found one creative work around. You could use an aux cord from car to tablet which should make all audio come out of the car’s speakers. AND add an external mic so I could be heard on calls. But out of principle, I am returning this glorified phone stand. The only thing it offers me that a $10 phone stand + my car’s regular Bluetooth is a big screen.Don’t buy
