This lighter support is very sturdy and works great. The base of my ladder feet don't fit in it, so possibly not compatible with an extending ladder. But I'm using it anyway, and it's held up!

I was unsure at first if this would work as described, especially using it on carpeted stairs. Easy assembly and easy to level out to the stair height. I tested it first on a short flight of stairs and felt confident it would work for the purposes intended. From the bottom of the steps to where we wanted the pictures hung was approximately 17 feet. The bottom 3rd step was the starting point and it held the ladder well to set the right hand picture. Just be sure to take all the tools and hangers you need the first trip up! Quite pleased, it offers enough adjustment holes to level the ladder extender to the stairs, and I had no slippage from the ladder legs through the extender. I did place it on the against the opposite wall as a precaution and it held very well. No complaints whatsoever.

I was hesitant to buy this because it said it had a high return rate. But it works. The one I bought was too big, I bought the bigger size and I should have bought the smaller one. Measure your stairs before you buy it. But. Even the big one works for my stairway projects. Makes impossible stairs way easier to deal with for any home projects. One of those things that now that I have it, I wonder how I’ve managed without it all these years!

We own a rental property and when renters leave, we have to paint. I refuse to have someone do something I can do, but the stairwell is always a challenge. I feel like a circus acrobat as I try to get the middle section done taking many more risks of falling than I should. I was excited when I found this and immediately bought it. I took it out of the box and it was exactly what I hoped for. My ladder leg width fit with no problem. It felt sturdy and I was confident it would hold me. I took it to my stairs and it didn't fit. My rental is an older townhouse and my stairs were not deep enough for it. The end piece hung over the edge by about 1/2 inch. I was going to be about 20 feet off the ground so that 1/2 inch was too risky for me. This product has a great design, but it could be improved. If the length that rests on the stairs that makes it level off for your ladder could be adjusted, this would be the perfect product. So, instead of using this, I bought a tall Little Giant adjustable laddar. The Little Giant was much more expensive, difficult to maneuver, and takes up a lot more storage area, but it got the job done. I wish that this would have worked out.

It did the job and I felt safe on it. I have used other plastic stair levelers and had them slide off the carpet while I was on the ladder. I was OK but I put a hole in a wall I wasn't planning on painting. So when I had a commercial job to do I had to find something better. I liked that it was made out of steel and had a long "tongue" that would lay on the whole step. It went together very easy, I just had to play with it a little bit to get it lay perfectly level. Which it did. I don't like climbing ladders anymore in my career, I'm 71 but this made me feel safe 20' above the steps. Very good product. I would recommend it to any professional painter.

This thing is really solid! It has allowed me to work over my stairs like never before! To pull out the height extender to span two stair steps vertically (it's minimum is too long for one step), you may have to pull out the cotter pin at the base first, and then slide it out, otherwise it may stop the extender from pulling out as it is shipped. The footer tray (21" long, 5" wide, 1" deep) is not quite wide enough for the footers on some ladders, but there is enough swivel on the footers so that with the 1" tray depth, the ladder isn't sliding anywhere. For added assurance, I used a G-clamp to clamp the tray to the overhang on each stair-step if possible.

The ladder extender works as intended although the angle of the ladder on the staircase is quite steep, unless you have a wide staircase.

Di per sé l'articolo era valido ma purtroppo non adattabile con l'altezza degli scalini della mia abitazione. Nel provarlo ho riscontrato un paio di difficoltà (ma risolvibili) nel "montaggio". Le istruzioni sono in 4 lingue tranne l'italiano (cmq com un traduttore si risolve) ma non proprio dettagliate. Ad esempio il perno che serve a bloccare la parte di appoggio orizzontale non basta solo rinviarlo nel buco preposto ma si avvita e poi passa di sigillo... consiglio anche l'utilizzo di guanti in quanto perde "colore"... sicuramente per qualcuno sarà utile, io ho dovuto riconsegnarlo
