My laptop would get so hot I could easily keep hot coco hot! This product really does the job in keeping the laptop cooled. I got two semiconductors instead of one and couldnt be happier. So worth the price.

Would recommend if you need contact cooling for fan-less or need more surface cooling.

I ordered the one with the two cooling pads. One of them wasn't cooling out of the box. The other one did some cooling but was very noisy (the fan in it). Maybe with the dual pads I would have had a noticeable effect on my laptop. But with the single one, the cooling was not noticeable enough to outweigh the loudness of its fan.I contacted (tried to) support regarding the dead cooling pad - 3 days later, I finally got an answer to "provide order number so they can look into it". I did so right away - and never heard back.A couple of days later I finally ended up just returning it in my frustration and getting a different unit.

I have been very impressed with this unit. It has been keeping my router at an operating temperature even in an non air conditioned room with temperatures over 100 degrees.

Love how small the stand folds down to. The two cooling plates did make an actual difference in the temperature of my laptop. However the fans are very loud and not good if you are working in a quiet environment. If you don't mind a little extra noise it works great.

Once the cold plate gets hotter than room temperature, it becomes less effective.Of course the ice pack will only last until it melts. So this tells me that the MacBook Pro could use a bigger heatsink.
