This is a nice larger dose ltheanine which is great when needing extra help to calm yourself or before a big event like a presentation. ltheanine is one of my first go to supplements. It is very safe, does not make my me groggy or sleepy. It provides a calm alertness. Great product.

Theanine is great, but frequently it's sold in 100mg capsules. If you want to take it to curb anxiety, you're going to start at 400mg. I like that Vitamonk figured that is a good size for the pill to be. I enjoy too much coffee almost every day, so it's nice to temper that with the calming effect of theanine. Great product!

I am editing my original review from 6/22/23 on 6/29/23. Although I'm sleeping better and better each night that I take the Theanine 400, I've also started getting frequent headaches over the last week or so, and I've been feeling lightheaded a lot, especially in the mornings. It finally occurred to me that my blood pressure might be lower than usual, so I decided to take my blood pressure this morning and discovered that it's considerably lower than my usual blood pressure. I haven't taken any other new supplements or medications besides the Theanine 400 over the last few weeks. A quick internet search clarified that L-Theanine can, in fact, lower blood pressure. And, from what I've found, Theanine 400 contains a higher dosage of L-Theanine than the average ones on the market. I'm SO disappointed to say that I will no longer be able to continue taking this great product on a nightly basis and experience the fabulous sleep that I've been enjoying lately. I will experiment with taking one capsule every few nights, and especially on nights when I really need to ensure that I sleep well, or when I'm dealing with more than the average stress level. I might also try what another reviewer suggested and pour some powder out of the capsule in order to take a lower dosage. If I can tolerate the taste of it in juice or water, I wouldn't mind doing that so I can still benefit from improved sleep quality. Low BP might not be a concern for me if I take a lower dosage on a regular basis. Time will tell! I still feel that this is a great product, and I highly recommend it. I just felt that I should caution others who might already deal with low BP if they are thinking of trying this high dosage -- and encourage those with high BP who might consider this side effect a great thing!(Original review on 6/22/23) - I've been taking this product for a couple of weeks at bedtime. I've noticed that it's been somewhat easier for me to get back to sleep during the night after getting up to empty my bladder, whereas before I would always lie awake in bed worrying about all of life's problems. I don't think the Theanine 400 actually makes me feel drowsy like a sleeping pill; it just helps to relax my mind so sleep comes easier. I haven't tried taking it during the day, since nighttime anxiety is worse than daytime anxiety, in my opinion. I really value my sleep, so it's a great tool to have in my sleep arsenal!

Great product. Great company. L-Theanine is relaxing. I like the small, easy-to-swallow capsules. And it's got the highest potency L-Theanine I've seen. I personally have sleep issues, and this does help me. I still have a ways to go, but that does not reflect on the product. Anything that helps me sleep is a plus! Thanks, VitaMonk!

I don't always consume caffeine, so when I do sometimes I am sensitive and can get a little jittery. I'm a performer so sometimes I consume extra caffeine to stay on point, but then this can make me a but nervous too. Combining the caffeine with this double strength theanine really helps to get the best of both worlds of the energy and focus from caffeine while remaining calm and in good spirits. great product!

Very calming and helps with sleep. I notice I sleep deeply when I take it. I love that it has clean and pure ingredients.

I noticeably feel lighter after taking it. I’ve been trying to cut down on my use of melatonin, so I’ve started taking this about an hour before I go to sleep. I fall asleep quicker now and sleep for longer periods of uninterrupted sleep. My favorite part of these vitamins is that there are no artificial fillers so I know what I’m putting into my body.

I received this product as part of the free rebate offer. I took this with my morning coffee for a few days for its calming effects. It worked well for this purpose, but left me feeling a bit strange later in the day. Focused but somewhat dissociated. I think this might not be the right dose level for everyone. 100-200 mg is probably better for the average person. Compare this with green tea which only has ~10 mg of theanine per serving. My opinion is it would be better to start at a lower dose and increase if the desired effect is not achieved. Still 4/5 stars as the quality of the product seems good.
