Perfect Even for Beginners Like Us!
We’re not car experts at all, but this Harpy Eagle oil change pump made us feel like pros. We have a EV and a regular gas car that does. This kit worked great on our gas car — super easy to set up and use. The instructions were very clear, and we loved that everything came ready to go right out of the box. It pumped the oil out fast and clean with zero mess. Honestly, we were nervous to try something like this on our own, but now we’ll never go back to paying for oil changes. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to save money and do it themselves — even if you’ve never done it before!

Great Oil Extractor with Smart Design
Excellent pump — I've used it several times already, and it removes used oil without any issues. But I especially want to point out the convenient caps for sealing the hoses — leftover oil doesn’t leak into the case during storage. Also, the special blue clip for securing the drain hose is very handy. It’s simply indispensable for changing transmission fluid.Great product, I’m very satisfied with the purchase — definitely recommend it!

Excellent pump quiet super powerful and field serviceable
The media could not be loaded. This is an excellent pump. Super powerful. I own a marine repair shop and we deal with oil almost daily. I have used vacuum pumps in the past and this is a total game changer. There are features about this pump that set it apart from many cheaper options and is totally worth the extra money. There are also some definitive improvements they can make and i will list them which is why I snipped off a star. I have not been endorsed or received any benefit from this review. Its simply my hands on review and I own Socal Marine LLC.Firstly the kit does come with a dipstick insert tube - its very thin and the idea is to slip this down the dipstick tube to extract oil. This will drastically slow the process esp when the oil is cold only because the tube ID is so thin- however by drastic i mean it still pumps 10 times quicker than my old vacuum model! The speed is determnined by the INLET HOSE SIZE! I removed the quickconnect fititng and screwed in a 3/8 barb adapter, ground down the sharp barb edges for easy hose removal and used a firm wall 3/8 oil line (yes those soft clear tubes WILL compress - do not use these/soft hose on the in side!).Well heck this thing pumped about a gallon a minute of a mix of gear and engine oil-Now for the fun part - this pump is totally field repairable, what I mean is if you hit a jam like i did sucking up something other than oil, just pop off the top cover, remove gears and pin (it falls out easy), clean and re-assemble and you are off to the races again. Remember the small gear goes down groove first to seat over the small pin. This has a steel gear much like a chevy oil pump and it will last FOREVER unless you pump sand with it. It has very tight tolerances and works incredibly well. One thing i noticed after removing top cap to clear an obstruction (looked like teflon tape got in there), was I had to leave the 3 screws slightly loose and let it run slowly tightening the screws - if you reassemble and just tighten the screws you will likely just lock the gear- so tighten the screws slowly while the pump is running and untighten if it jams up then gently continue snugging them till it stays running with all 3 snug.It also primed INSTANTLY from a dead vertical drop if 3 feet- and instantly spurted oil out the clear tube which threw oil everywhere. The stupid plastic clip they provide doesnt even fit the tube in the kit!No reverse option but I might swap out the switch since its a DC motor, and also no strainer like in other kits. Also - the case is WAY too tight, once you have added 5/16 and 3/8 lines, its impossible to close. Also - the clip sucks and there are no p;ugs for the clear tube far as i can tell.Overall I am keeping this because i dont like returning used items based on small dislikes- everyone is trying to get by here and I dont need to return funtioning equipment putting a jam in their progress.Pros:Pumps like a monster - 1 gal / minute with a 3/8 inletVery power pumpPump is QUIET!Nice length of wires and decent clipsCase is niceStandard NPT threads for custom hose/fitting optionsField servicable - easy to remove/reassemble and continue onCons:No inlet screen filterCase is too smallNo reverse optionBlue clip does not fit outlet hose at all spraying oil everywhereI am very happy and hope this pump lasts a while.

Great. Oil change with zero mess
The media could not be loaded. I got this oil pump to replace my old cheap plastic oil pump. I was really impressed by the build quality, and how neat the packaging looks. It is super easy and convenient to store. I was pleasantly surprised when the intake tube and out tube was equipped with a removable cap. So after the oil change you can close the tubes, put everything back and nothing will leak. It works much faster than any other ones I used before. And it is pretty durable. An important thing to remember is, first time using the pump, it is good to prime it.(put the tube into the dipstick channel, and suck the air out of the out tube till you see oil come to the pump. Or squeeze a little oil thru the tube till it reaches the pump.) it will help create suction. Overall I'm really happy with this purchase.

This pump is a life saver!
I recently tried to change the oil on my Mini cooper, only to find my oil drain plug completely stripped and rounded off. I was unable to remove the plug on my own. I had just purchased a premium filter, and oil. I did not want to have to bring it to a mechanic to have the drain plug replaced, knowing they would probably have to change the oil and almost certainly would not use my provided oil and filter. I decided instead to leave the oil plug in. I purchased this pump to remove the old oil. It was surprisingly easy and efficient to use. I did not experience any leakage. It was relatively speedy, only taking about 8 minutes to completely drain the oil pan. The pump seems quite sturdy and made to last. It is all metal so the pump has enough heft to keep it steady while it does the work for you. I did listen to other reviewers and used a heat gun to straighten the drain tube's. The included stoppers are perfect. The case however, is almost useless once you straighten the tube's. All in all this is a great pump and a great value! I highly recommend this as a buy!

These are a lot more powerful than the cheaper plastic units
If you Use as directed and and have your oil warm but not scalding hot It will pump very quickly . I have Purchase 2 of these The first one I had no problem with the second an issue where the Hose hook to the unit. ..Reordered and had no problem. totally worth the money. About the cheaper plastic version that was around $35 and it was very slow and eventually stop working . Definitely pay the difference and buy this unit

Good in concept, decent in execution.
It took way longer than I would have ever expected to extract the fluid and based upon the amount of oil the car took I don’t believe that I got it all. Overall it would have been faster and more effective to jack up the car and undo the shield, etc…. To achieve a complete oil change. I can see this being useful if I decided to do half-interval changes.
