Perfect size easy to assembly nice quality

We have problems with four things about this train. One is that it gets caught every time on the track where the train can shift direction. This makes use of the figure 8 track impossible. It is also frustrating for my 8-year-old to place the train on the track successfully and without help. The remote has been touchy at times as well.The accessory cardboard pieces for scenery are better quality than I hoped and easy to remove. However, the stands are loose in place and require two hands to set them up, If they were snug a child could better do this independently.

I got this train set for my 7-year-old grandson who is absolutely obsessed with trains of any kind. We go and watch the Cal Trains every Friday for long enough to see like 10 to 16 trains go by. (So, for about an hour and a half) Anyway, this is a really nice set. It has everything you need; The train, of course, which steamed right out of the box, we hadn't even added water yet, and it comes with a tool to do that. You get a full set of tracks, that are easy to put together. It comes with a package of little plastic caps you put on the sides of the tracks, when put together, this holds them in place. (a super great idea! Usually, it is the fact that the tracks come apart during use, that is the most frustrating thing, so kudos for that!)They also give you some cardboard cut outs of trees, buildings, and people to complete your set up. Also, you get the remote, of course! So, the only thing you need to add is the batteries in both the train and the remote. You will need a small screw driver and 6 total AA batteries, 4 for train, and 2 for the remote.The train runs well, pulls all its cars, and steams! It can move forwards and backwards, and also makes the "choo choo" sound, and has lights, too! This train will fit on the standard wood set, or the Thomas the train tracks as well, in case you were wondering. But, the included tracks will not connect to any of those, but you do get a complete set, so you can make a full track for the train to go around.This is a nice complete set, and any train lover will love it!

The media could not be loaded. I got this to replace my old train I’ve put up under my tree for about 15 years now, that no longer works. This train has steam and train horn. It moves pretty quick around the track and the track is much larger then I expected. Track goes together easy, just snap the pieces together and put clips on them to hold them together. I just put 1 side on to try this out because I’m saving it for Christmas around my tree. The bottle for steam you dunk in water and squeeze the bottle to fill it, the top doesn’t come off of the bottle. I really like this train it is a big up grade to my old one. And the box it comes in is a nice small size for storage. My old one was so huge it was hard to store. This one can go on a shelf in my closet. The only thing I have to say is missing is a caboose, which I was a little surprised, but I am really am happy with this train.
