Great knife for the price
This review is for the 11.6 inch versionKnow that this review is based off of the price I got it for. It was on sale for $45 with a normal price of $70.I'll get the negative out of the way first. The fit and finish on the handle was not the greatest. The bolster is plastic, and did not transition to the handle smoothly. There were spots where the handle stuck out past the bolster, and where it sat lower than it as well. Again I got this for $45, not really going to complain about that. If it's no longer on sale I'd probably look at other options. That's alI can say as far as negatives are concerned. Everything else is pretty awesome. The edge is ground well, came sharp out of the box, and I don't mean that as it will cut things, it was able to shave the hair off my leg. People were complaining that their tip was broken in shipping, I didn't have that problem. And that doesn't seem like something to complain about. It's Amazon. If it's broken when you got it, just return it.The handle shape is comfortable. It's a bit blade heavy, but that helps in the slice because it holds itself down. The point is wicked sharp. Not sure what it's purpose is, but I like it. The blade is hollow ground on the back side which makes it cut without sticking, and will make it really easy to sharpen.Wash this by hand, do not put this in the dishwasher. Wipe the blade down after you are done using it. Especially if you cut things that are acidic like fruits. The wooden handle is unfinished, so it will obsorb liquid. I'm going to stain it and then use boiled linseed oil to seal it. Again, it was $45. Corners were cut to make it at that price. But the blade doesn't seem to be one of them.If it's still $45 I'd suggest picking one up. And if you're handy, make a scabbard for it, it doesn't come with one, but the presentation box it came in will do just fine.

Five stars but not a glowing review
I cook for a living and bought this to add to my collection. To start off, it's a beautiful knife. Simplistic in design but beautiful. Sharp but I'll probably work on the edge myself this weekend. My main criticism is it's definitely a beginners knife. I mean, for seventy bucks I don't expect perfection in a knife, but it's flawed in a few key ways.- It's heavy. My favorite knives are under 100g while this one sits at 198g! (that's nearly half a pound in freedom units) That may not sound like a lot but if used for a few hours (like on a carving station, which I often man) the added weight becomes noticeable.- It's sharp... enough. For beginners and home cooks it's perfectly sharp, but for someone experienced one will notice how it drags instead of slices. I'll be putting a new edge on mine next time I get my stones wet.- It feels poorly balanced. I doubt this knife is full tang, and if it is there's not enough counterbalance in the handle. That means most of the 200g is in the blade making the wrist work a bit more for support.Enough bad talk. This knife is seriously a good deal for the price. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not bragging about it with my industry colleagues, but for the price it's worth it. One would be hard pressed to find a knife under 200 bucks that's full tang, well balanced, surgically sharp out of the box, and sexy AF. This knife ticks one of those boxes; the other three are par the course for this price range, hence the five stars.Happy cooking!

Sharp and functional
There are cheaper sushi knives made with better steel, but I bought this knife because it has a traditional tanto tip. It came sharp and is comfortable to use. I use it for restaurant work and everyone likes it.

Beautiful price of cutlery
A beautiful piece of cutlery! It has a balanced feel in hand; a wickedly sharp edge out of the box (No dressing needed). Any blade of this quality is worth it’s the price and the wait time.

Wrong discription.
After spending $80, this knife is not even cutting regular meat then this is garbage. I spent money for cutting meat and after getting it, I got disappointment that this is only worked for vegetables not for meat. Even in the pictures it is clearly showing that this knife cut fish and meat. For vegetables there are lot of knives are available for less price.

Works great, does the job.
I'm a Sushi Chef and I've used a bunch of different knives from beginners to professional ones ranging from 20 to 600 dollars. I've had this knife for a couple of months now and is still factory sharp. This knife is great. I would definitely recommend this knife.
