Tammy Chang wrote a good book. It's detailed and lays everything out plain for the reader. The Nurished Belly Diet is about puting everything you need into your body, in the proper ratios and not sacrificing nutrients and quality for convenience.Tammy includes a helpful questionnaire that pointed out areas where I need to improve. And although I was cognizant of most of them, I tend to push them out of my mind. Tammy brought them all back to my attention. My problem is I eat out a lot. I don't take the time needed to prepare anything so I'm always going for the quick, easy meal. Tammy breaks down how much less it costs to be healthy, once time in invested.One concept Tammy includes that I had never thought about is deposits and withdrawals! Your body is a bank. You put the good food in (whole, regenerative foods) and even though you may occasionally have a bad food and make a "withdrawl", you don't feel depleted like when you only make bad food choices.Notes to live by:Don't use oils from food that aren't normally oilyFind exercise that is funTammy provides levels that makes it easier to transition into a lifestyle that sticks. It goes from starting your day with lemon and hot water and having two planned meals a week, to food prepping and planned meals 5 to 7 days a week! She also separates the week with menus and goals to keep the progress moving forward. I've already made my own chicken broth and I'm going to try her bone broth recipe in a week or so. I've also incorporated more greens and that honey miso dressing is fantastic! I can't wait to make the cashew garlic cream. It sounds A M A Z I N G. I added something fermented to my diet as well and have been buying a jugs of kombucha from my local farmer's market. That's never been something I thought I would make a part of my lifestyle.The only thing I wish was different about this book is I wish the Holistic Nutrition 101 was close to the front. The stomach acid test is a must-do to make sure you are have good absorption. It would suck to change your eating habits and still not get everything your body needs. I'm not at the end of my 21 days, but I can already feel a difference. I just have to take effort needed for my overall health.

Will make eating more joyful and healthful
There is so much WISDOM in this book. So much more than a list of what to eat or what not to eat, this book explains what your body needs and why and what happens when your body doesn't receive those things. It helps one make informed trade offs around food choices and lifestyle choices instead of feeling like you need to follow someone else's set of "rules."STRONGLY recommend — I wish that I'd learned this in health class instead of staring at the food pyramid.

Just try 21 days.
This is a great book for making your body feel good again. It has a 21 day plan to heal your gut, start a new way to lose weight, increase your enery and feeling better. Many of use after a while start feeling sluggish, have no energy, and just plain feel bad. This may be due to our diet. We eat so much processed and junk food, that our body just signals to us to STOP! We need real food! This book has great recipes that are easy to follow and most of the ingredients are already in the pantry. There are recipes for breakfast, snacks, salads and sauces, veggies, entrees, and sweet treats. My favorite recipe in this book is the avacado chocolate mousse. I suggest just trying the 21-day plan and you will be able to cut out processed and junk food easily. It just takes a little planning.

My GO TO book for simple, nutrition filled, food ideas!
I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a "go to" on just good, nutritious, whole food recipes and or ideas. I am about to buy a few more to give as gifts, you can't go wrong! For me it's a guide to eating better to feel better, not necessarily for losing weight but I think it would be great for that too. Especially as a guide on what to eat to keep the weight off. It even looks great, I leave it on my living room coffee table and it makes me want to eat vegetables.

Wanna learn how to cut out the crap and eat delicious natural food to boost your health? This book lays out the easiest, most straightforward and non-judgmental method to learning the basics of natural, nourishing eating. This is not necessarily a "diet to lose weight" book, although I would imagine switching from a highly processed diet to The Nourished Belly Diet would help. This is a "diet as nourishment" book with detailed, easy to understand scientific information, nutrition facts, meal plans, grocery shopping guidance, and delicious recipes. Super easy to follow and really informative. Highly, highly recommend!

This is an excellent diet and lifestyle change book that advertises practical changes for achievable results without using over the top scientific lingo or unreasonably expensive ingredients. My favorite part about this book is how positive the tone is--not in a kind of namaste preachy way, but just in a You Can Do It way! It's detailed and based in substantive research. I'm especially excited to keep trying out the recipes--the author understands how busy their readers can be and makes cooking achievable.

Nourish your belly with this book!
This is a great guide on improving your health and feeling great by eating the right food. Tammy Chang writes in a style that is easy to access, especially in what I find to be an overwhelming field of nutrition, dieting and weight loss. Lots of easy to follow recipes. I especially like her concept of "SOUL Foods".

Great Job Tammy! I love the thorough, easy to read explanations. Very easy to read and engaging. Good mix of personal experience and educational information.

Excellent read
Excellent read for whoever is willing to change their lifestyle. Without even having to follow the plan, the book gives a lot of insight on mindful nutrition.
