Brilliant start to a story and great quality book

Vagabond is a manga, based around the story of a swordsman and has some of the best artwork I have seen within manga, similar to berserk in style. Within the first volume, I was immediately hooked by the main character and it had a surprising amount of twists/unexpected developments throughout. Highly recommended to those who enjoy Berserk, action mangas and all that is similar.

What can I say. I classic Japanese story in graphic form the art work is great from a well known school/studio artist(s). A graphic novel to be revisited - if you haven't it to someone and not had it returned

One of the most well written and visually stunning pieces of art i have ever had the pleasure of having in my possession. So without spoilers i could go on for line after line about this and kiss butt about it and/or say how good or bad it was... just to write a review.. but im just going to write something short to be honest.. This book is one of the best books ive ever read.. its visually stunning the art is superb and the writing draws you in to where i read the entire thing within 2 days because i didnt want to finish it in one sitting i wanted it to last... Worth a buy..

Amazing manga would recommend

Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, not just in Manga, but in storytelling and production values in general. I rate it only behind Kentaro Miura's epic Dark Fantasy series Berserk and Fist of the North Star by Buronson and Hara in the history of Manga. Vagabond, set in the Sengoku era in Japan, is essentially an adaption of an adaption. Inoue's story is loosely based off the classic epic Mushashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, which is fictional account of the warrior philosopher Musashi Miyamoto. This 3in1 omnibus, and the series as a whole, deserves to be on your bookshelf. The characters are deep, while some could find Musashi's goal to be’ Invincible under the Sun’ as singular and base, I found it utterly fascinating and kept turning page after page even when my eyes were crying out for sleep! The story craft in Vagabond is great and the artwork is phenomenal, beautiful detail that comes alive off the page. The coloured sections are eloquent and stunning and I wish there was more to be had within. You can see, and feel, the history on the page before you as you will be truly absorbed in the events unfolding throughout as the Sengoku Era is brought to life like few others have achieved. I have always been huge fan of the Sengoku Era and Vagabond is arguably the best piece set in the era. Do yourself a favour and purchase this series. You will not be disappointed
