Works really well! Has a ton of brightness settings and it's as easy as a drop in solution. The screen is a bit larger than the original and has a larger resolution (relatively) so it looks quite sharp and very nice! One thing to note though is that you have to be careful about what shell you are dropping it into. It fits perfectly into an OEM shell, but if you are using a custom shell from a different manufacturer like IFunnyPlaying, then it won't fit well and have a bit of wobble. You just have to make sure that the shell you get isn't trimmed for a modded display, and you should be good to go.

This HISPEEDIDO V5 drop-in IPS screen completely transformed my Game Boy Advance SP. The brightness is honestly the first thing that hits you. With multiple brightness levels and a really strong backlight, the screen looks great indoors and is still super clear even in bright rooms. The display quality is excellent. Colors look clean and vibrant without being over-saturated, and the viewing angles are way better than the original screen. The laminated design also makes everything look sharper since there’s no gap between the lens and the display. Installation was much easier than I expected. It really is a drop-in upgrade, and you only need to solder one wire if you want full brightness control using the GBA button. Even for someone who isn’t experienced with modding, it’s very straightforward and doesn’t require cutting the shell. Overall, if you want a brighter, sharper, and easier-to-install screen upgrade for the GBA SP, this is definitely one of the best options out there.

Installation was painless. Screen is perfect. No dead pixels. Touch buttons work to change the brightness and the color for I guess GB games or some other reason. This screen has fantastic brightness and sharp image quality. Huge improvement from the stock screen that was washed out by the front light. There are no issues to report 1 day after installation. I'll let you know in a year how it's holding up.

Looks amazing! If you’re able to remove the old display without issue, you’ll have no problems installing this one, literally is just plug and play. The additional wire allows you to control the display settings by long pressing the light button, long press again to change settings. Lowering the brightness to about “6-7”, then changing the display mode to “4”, is an almost perfect match for the original display, except much clearer.

Freaking love this screen! No hard time in well light areas and completely dark areas. No dead pixels and can change the setting of the screen to however you desire it. With the screen being a lot better improvement wise the battery does get drained a little more quickly but not by very much so I’d recommend buying a better battery. I also wouldn’t say that it’s completely solderless since you have to solder the red wire to the flex ribbon to the motherboard if you want to use the brightness button but it is touchscreen to the point where you can change the brightness and color. Other than that I recommend getting this screen and been using it on my GBA ever since.

Bought this to upgrade the screen on my AGS-001 GBA SP. Thankfully this screen is plug and play with both the older AGS-001 & newer AGS-101 models of the SP. Fit perfectly and I did opt to solder the wire for brightness/color controls. Very easy to solder and I highly recommend doing it to get the most out of this screen. 15 brightness modes is amazing. I can no longer see any pixels compared to the old screen, major upgrade!!

!!!!! IMPORTANT INFO !!!!! please read Works great. Looks great. Had it installed for a week without soldering the extra control wires. Then one day it’s suddenly dark. No brightness. I took it apart and reset the ribbon cable. Still dark. What I discovered is that somehow there is touch sensitivity at the bottom right of this screen that controls the brightness levels. Now that being said you have need to solder the wire on if you want access to the control menu. Brightness can be controlled by tapping the bottom right of the screen. More info can be found on Reddit in regards to the touch sensitivity controls. Reviews and info on Amazon at the time of my purchase did not explain this at all. I thought I had a defective screen. Thankfully I did not.

Simplemente increíble pantalla. En cuanto al envío soy de México y me llegó en tres días aunque decía que tardaba más. Venía muy bien protegida con plástico de burbujas y en una cajita de plástico. En cuanto a la instalación créanme no es nada difícil, lo único que requiere trabajo es desarmar y armar la consola, pero en YouTube hay muchos tutoriales solo busquen el modelo. Lo mejor es que no tuve que soldar nada, los botones táctiles funcionan perfecto, en el video muestro como cambia el brillo, un poco al centro donde dice Advance si presionan cambia el filtro de color y si dejan presionado cambian el estilo de pixel.

Exactly what I was expecting, it was an easy install and choose not to solder. I also swapped the shell and it turned out perfect!

Es touch screen, viene con el cable para soldar pero NO es necesario, es fácil de poner si la carcasa no se tiene que modificar, buen producto y una buena opción como updgrade! Por cierto, si… tiene el nombre que no se puede poner en la pantalla por copyright hahaha

Compared to the front-lit screen that came with my AGS-001 in 2002, this screen is incredible. Bright and colourful! I chose the non-solder approach and found the touch buttons to adjust brightness kind of finicky. I'll be doing the soldered approach the next time I have it apart (perhaps to upgrade to a cool transparent shell). This screen should be your first upgrade if you have an old AFS-001.
