Avenir AMD205 Mounting Clip - Black

A neat little innovative item. Ideal solution to the problem of fitting a rack to many budget or road bikes today which have pannier/mudguard eyelets on the drop-outs, but no rack mounting bosses on the seat stays. Obviously, this is only suitable for those frames that use a band-on type seat clamp as opposed to one built into the frame, but assuming that the purchaser would already have checked this, it's hard to fault. It's a solid, stable way to attach a pannier rack to the back of a bike. Whilst it's perhaps more cramped to fit a rack to this than actual rack bosses, it's probably the best solution to the problem that isn't having said bosses fitted at significant expense by a frame builder. It's certainly a far more solid feeling than the P-clips used in days gone by. Given that it doesn't take up that much space or compromise the clamp in any way, my only real question is why these don't ship with bikes as standard!

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Works a charm with my pannier rack and holds the seat in place as it should. Easy to adjust with a good allan nut. Looks a little cheap (matte black plastic) but otherwise perfect.

It was a bit big so I had to a piece inside to stop it from moving. Other than that it works fine and I've added the pannier rack!

This seatpost clamp does its job very well. My rack mounts to it well, the seatpost stays in place, and it feels plenty strong for modest loads.

Regrettably I don't have good things to say. The seat clamp fitted well and was tightened to 5Nm torque. So far so good.I then can to fit the pannier the following day to discover at some point overnight the clamp had sheared and failed about the bolt.Broken and completely useless.I'm just glad I hadn't gone for a ride, or could have found myself marooned with a " dropper " .. or rather dropped post.There are alternatives available and if this experience is anything to judge by, would suggest you look to those.

I bought this clip to try and create a foot rest for my daughters balance bike. This clip along with a set of folding big pegs done the job perfectly.

Seems nice and sturdy, just didn't initially fit onto my bicycle seat post and I had to use a rubber ring to provide the required diameter. It doesn't lose stars for that however as there are details of the diameter of the clip on the page (in the Q&A section) so it is entirely my fault for not checking before buying! It has held on firmly with the likes of a microwave, 22" monitor and desk chair on my panier.
