Singer Heavy Duty 4423 Sewing Machine, grey

Heavy, sturdy, great sewer.At first it was slow, then it got faster and whizzes along. Easy to use and navigate. Wouldn't be without it. Even a beginner could use this with ease.I feel confident that it will tackle all my sewing projects.

I started off sewing on my grandmother's Singer treadle machine, moved on in my 20s to a proper electric Singer, but changed to a different brand in my forties. For my 70th birthday I have treated myself to this wonderful Singer. It is very easy to use; within 10 minutes I learned to use the needle threader (and I've never managed this on any other machine before). It comes with a super instruction manual that is in English only, so you don't have to spend time flipping through Europe to find the English pages. It comes with every appendage I could ever want, including capacity for two needle sewing, invisible hem stitch, button hole maker and button sewer oner. It is sturdy and - wow - is it fast - and powerful!! There is also a neat little app that I downloaded which has more instructions on its use and more general help for those new to sewing. As an experienced user of sewing machines, I can't rate this machine highly enough. I love it.

This machine is fantastic. So easy to use and goes through many more layers of fabric than an ordinary home machine.

A brilliant sewing machine . it does everything you ask , it ploughs through heavy or light material and mine has never broken down. I have owned other sewing machines and they constantly break down or can’t do the job

Works well, the motor purrs along smoothly when sewing . The auto needle threader is great.Great value for money. Bought this version rather than the more expensive computerised version as less electronics to go wrong.

So glad I took the plunge and bought this model, after hours of research I felt this was the one to replace my 50 year old Singer (for soft furnishings, ie curtains, heavy duty fabrics, cushions,, mending, making clothes etc). I've tried it out on different thicknesses of fabric, it has a robust sewing action, certainly more robust than my old one (I'm usually the one to say things aren't made like they used to be, but that doesn't apply in this case, I'm quite surprised to be honest). it's easy to thread up (and logical, I could probably have done it without looking at the instructions, but then I'm used to Singers). I haven't tried out all of the functions yet so can't comment on those. I typed my initial review in the 'Seller Review' slot in error (no wonder I ran out of space), so I'll mention the seller here.... my hubby actually ordered this as a birthday present for me, this was the best price he had seen on the internet and decided to go for it. Despite coming from Italy, it arrived in perfect condition. I emailed the Seller with a query and he responded straight away and was more than helpful. All good. Oh, one thing, it did have a manual with it, but it didn't show any English, but it is very easy to download and print the instructions in English from the internet.
