I planted them in 2 different spots 1)middle of yard no shade 2) in pots and dirt around my stoop. Both grew well, I also fertilized both with Miracle Gro at least once per week with just enough Miracle Gro to tint your water. Beautiful flowers, consider Large Zinnas they grow almost identical to the "painted daisies"

Both grow well , but scratch the soil, plant the seeds no deeper than 1", the one's in the soil grow taller and multiply more.
