Better than expensive equivalents!
Peeling potatoes, fruits and vegetables is an arduous task that nobody looks forward to. I purchased this device years ago and was absolutely amazed that it worked so well - to the extent that I ordered another and gifted it to a relative in another country. The device is simple - stick your fruit/vegetable into the pointy holder at the bottom, lower the upper holder, place the cutter on top and press the red button. Your food will be peeled in a uniform fashion and more often than not in a continuous string of peel making cleanup so much simpler than before (anyone remember cleaning starchy potato peels out of the sink? I do!). In fact, I typically place my peeler on the counter and guide the peel into a trash can on the floor so that as the peel is fed out gravity pushes it straight into the trash. A year or two after purchasing we got an expensive mixer and bought the peeler attachment. We don't have a large home so it made no sense to keep both. Assuming that the new (and much more expensive) peeler attachment would do a solid job we gifted our old peeler to a family member. Boy, was that a mistake. Not only was the mixer's peeler attachment a pain to set up, but it was far inferior to this wonderful little device. The peeler attachment would miss giant chunks of peel, required fruits/vegetables to be certain dimension to peel (the spring was not strong enough to peel thinner food) and was so inconsistent that we ended up buying this peeler for the THIRD time. This is a really handy device. If you don't enjoy peeling food (who does?) or have dexterity issues or any issues that make using a manual peeler difficult then don't think twice - this is the gadget for you! Highly recommend!

Fast! It's a game changer
I, 100%, recommend this peelerA! fellow canner suggested it, so I had to try it. Some reviewers are worried about the lightweight construction, but I had NO problems. I was mindful about loading and unloading the potatoes, but it very straightforward. I only had two swipes with my peeler on the tops and bottoms. I was able to clean nearly 60# of potatoes in about 2-ish hours, without a single issue. The little parts were eay to clean with a brush, and I used wet wipe for the body. Clean in under 5 minutes. Again, a total game changer for bulk peeling.

Very thick peels
Works nicely but takes off very thick layer for peel. Not recommended for carrots you'll have nothing left of the carrot!

Really Good Product
I found this potato peeler to be quite amazing it worked so quick and easy for potatoes. I haven't tried it on any other vegetables or fruit but I'm sure it will work just as good on apples and pears. Mine came with a power cord you can plug it in and use it while plugged in or charge it up and use it without the cord or you can install batteries and it had extra blades stored in the bottom where the batteries go there is an extra compartment you take the cover off and there they are inside. I would buy this again !!

Blades dull too fast.
Not a lot of good to say about this peeler. First, it arrived later than expected. It was sent out late actually; courier got it here fast. Was expecting to have it while on 4 day weekend to do up the apples but arrived just in time to go back to work- it was during holiday rush, so have to give leniency there. Bought it to use on an abundance of apples my husband got from a store. Most of the apples were getting on the soft side, not great to sell, but still good for sauce, cake, etc. The first apple should been a sign as it missed a streak of skin in last quarter, but not a lot, though it consistently missed in that same area of each subsequent apple. I just needed to finish the peeling with my knife, no big deal. Did up a large pot worth of apples and made 4 pints of sauce the first time using it. Second time using it, it started to skip a little more, so replaced blade. Worked okay, as good as first time, and made smaller batch of sauce. Tried it next day on sweet potatoes and does not work well at all on them... Got through one but they're Too hard. Dulled the blade apparently because then went to show my parents how it worked on those soft apples and it was skipping again, bad! Did a couple of apples okay, but had skip lines of skin throughout. Then tried with a softer one to see if it would work better, but the arm with the spike didn't hold soft apple down well, blade was skipping and bottom spikes chewed up bottom of apple - too soft. It was as though the components that make the arm slide down, wasn't letting it slide smoothly. I have flushed the blades in warm, soapy water and rinsed, wiped down the unit with damp, sponge like instructions read after each use. Even used slightly soapy sponge and wiped again with just water and then dried, but acted like it needs oiling or greasing to slide well though instructions don't state that it needs to be.Conclusion: apparently, whatever you peel has to be perfect hardness: not too hard and not too soft to make components work the way they're intended. And seems as though the blades should last longer than for a few pints of applesauce- that is my biggest complaint. Still have a lot of apples to do up, so will continue to fuss with it. I feel I should have gone with a manual peeler with corer: thought this would save more time, but it really doesn't.
