Potato peeler Rex made in swiss Guaranteed quality (2 Pack)

Had many similar peelers, some don't last that long, these are really sharp out of the packet - easily taking the skin off a butternut squash, making lightning quick work of carrots, potatoes, etc.Blade is securely located and at this price I could not want more ... don't think too hard, just but this Rex peeler and use it. Had them for several months and they get plenty of use in home cooking most days of the week!

It is a peeler with the makers stamp on the box saying Star. It was sold as a Rex peeler and while it looks identical to the Rex peeler it does not seem to be as sharp as the original one I had, that accidentally got thrown out with the peeling. It does the job and I am happy with it.

Works as said and so useful

The Perfect Peeler, just watch your fingers until the blade dulls a bit because this baby can bite. The Best of this type ever, forget the plastic type, they don't cut it for speed or ease.I keep at least 4 of these in stock as they do tend to get thrown in the bin when I'm in a hurry... my present peeler has been retrieved 5 times from the swing bin to date! So I'm learning (at last)I bought one of the black plastic oxo ones years ago, as a spare. Never got around to using it, till my hubby complained about it being in the drawer so long still on cardboard hanger.... I used it for 3 mins and threw it (purposely this time) in the binTotal pain in the wrist!The Rex peeler, this type and shape, are simply the best, you dont need another peeler. They don't rust, just make sure they are dry before storing anyway.I've said quite a lot, when all I need to say is 'it's the best'

Despite what the listing says, these are not Rex peelers. I have used Rex peelers for years and they are the absolute best. When I started to use this peeler my first thought was that sine I bought my last ones - years ago - they have compromised their quality. The peeler does not have the delicacy the Rex had, is tough to use and takes of great chunks of skin. Then I noticed that on the side of the peeler it says Star, not Rex. I got the packaging out of the recycling and saw what I had missed when I opened it, that these are not Rex peelers at all. Amazon should be ashamed of this mis-representation.

Im a big fan of swiss style peelers, they are normally highly effective, this peeler however has a terrible blade and takes a lot of pressure to get things to peel this results in a much deeper peel than would otherwise be needed. You constantly get mis peels where insufficient pressure has been applied.My precious REX swiss style peeler ordered in 2014 is much sharper and does a fantastic job requiring very little force.

I've had these peelers for 25 years and there is no better peeler to use. It's permanently sharp, exceptionally easy to hold and use and because of this the speed and ease of peeling is fantastic. Once you've tried this, you'll never need another one. Only watch out is not to put in a dishwasher as it tarnishes the aluminium and makes it look unsightly, so a simple rinse in the sink with soap and water is more than enough to keep it looking nice and shiny.

Excellent price. Excellent peeling. Might not look like much & tarnishes in the dishwasher, but I dare you to find a better peeler.
