I am very happy with this toothbrush, although the handle is long and takes a little getting used to. I had purchased another kind of miswak toothbrush in which the wooden handle did not keep very well. But I have not found that to be the case with this brush. I love that the bristles are natural and that they are not made of nylon. There is literally something called toothbrush disease. I have always suffered with bleeding gums, no matter how much I have tried to take care of my teeth. I even started using natural minerals to brush my teeth with, but still had this problem. After doing more research, I began to look into what the bristles of my toothbrush was made with and began to learn that the nylon materials may not be that health for us. I also began to learn more about natural miswak root from trees, which I love. And although I love the miswak twigs, sometimes I still felt the need to use the toothbrush motion to clean my teeth. So I really appreciate this toothbrush with bristles made of miswak. I notice that I my gums do not bleed as much and my mouth feels much better.

I really wanted to love this product and thought it would be the perfect sustainable solution for a toothbrush, but after less than 2 months use the bristles got moldy and it went through to the toothbrush itself. I let the brush dry out after each use, did not leave it soaking, and this still happened. Very disappointed. Also the bristles constantly shed into my mouth, which I can tolerate but my kids cannot. Too bad!On another note, I was disappointed that the setting that the bristles are in is plastic, as I’m looking for a totally plastic-free toothbrush.

This is great. It's shaped like a toothbrush, whereas the alternative: miswak sticks are rigid and not the best shape for reaching back in the mouth. My teeth were shades whiter after just a week of use. And I can feel great about using very minimal plastic (the screw on the replacement bristles are plastic).
