Millie Marotta's Tropical Wonderland (Colouring Book Adventure)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this book. Unfortunately it's EXACTLY the same as Tropical World--same cover (although this one has a foldout) same artwork, same size, etc., just produced by a different publisher. I didn't know this and bought both. Very disappointing. Hope this helps someone else avoid the mistake, and it would be nice if the description had disclosed this.

Beautiful designs love them! Will have to have to color with color pencils due to the pages are back to back. The pages do not tear out easily as well. So if you want to choose a page to color to hang up make sure you don't like the page behind it!

These color books are a pure joy to color! If you wish to color with markers, like I do, without the bleed-thru I recommend a marker for scrapbooking.

Love this book!! Great variety of pictures from easy to more detail and nice thick paper.

This is a nice book with some lovely pictures in. It does have a couple of downsides though. The lines are not as defined as I would like. They're slightly pixelated. On some pages it encourages you to finish the drawing yourself.....if I could draw myself I'd draw my own colouring book! There's five pages at the back to create my own tropical paradise! That is a cop out!Also, the paper feels thick and good quality but if you have descent pens that are quite inky they will bleed which looks a bit rubbish.So it's nice, but has issues and is not particularly cheap compared to some others.

I really love this book and have bought some other Millie Marotta books as well. They are lovely designs, lovely drawings and the paper is great quality. I generally use different pencils but have also started using fine line colour pens and usually use one or the other or combine them for different colour effects. I have just bought some water pencils and some water pens too. Not sure if the paper is thick enough for water pens but I don't see why not as it is good grade quality paper. The colours of pens and pencils come up really well. Good book at a good price.

I love my colouring books and the detail in the Millie Marotta books is fantastic. There is plenty of variety in the subject choice in this book and I have had fun colouring them in. I use coloured pencils in my books as I don't think the paper used to print on would take the use of pens or paints without bleeding through but this is obviously up to the user to experiment. There is plenty of variety with drawings of animals, birds, butterflies, flora and fauna, some of them very complicated and others much simpler to colour. If you find the intricate patterns difficult, just colour in larger blocks to make it easier. Most important though just enjoy the process and don't over analyse what you are doing.

This is the first adult colouring book that I have bought and I wasn't sure what to expect but I am so glad that I opted for this tropical wonderland colouring book. There are a vast range of intricate designs throughout the book, I really like the variety of images - there are botanical and floral images, a range of tropical birds and animals, butterflies and insects, sea creatures and a couple of mandala style images to colour. Although the majority of the images have already been completed and are ready for you to colour there are a few which have spaces for you to add in your own patterns and designs to the image before colouring which I think is a nice idea, as it offers another way of interacting with the book and another way to be creative with it. The book is also printed on high quality paper which is lovely to colour on and produces great results. An excellent product!The only thing that I have found is that having double sided pages means that when colouring a design where I have already coloured on the previous page (i.e. directly underneath where I am colouring) the pressure from the pencils can cause colours to transfer/imprint on the other designs (although this could of course be partially due to my choice of colouring pencils) - however this is easily remedied by using a piece of plan paper or parchment paper inserted between the designs on the previous pages.

I bought this book as a little present to myself. I used to colour a lot in my teens and this book really captured my imagination. The pictures are really detailed and beautiful. The book itself is a good size - just right to sit on your lap. The pages are thick, smooth and good quality.I can't comment on colours bleeding through the paper when using pens, as I prefer to colour with soft pencils, which I haven't had a problem with.There are many designs in this book, so it should keep me occupied for quite a long time. If you will excuse me dear reader, I am now off to do some colouring.
