Very good compact loft hatch push lock with easy to follow instructions, but it helps to have a helper and take your time , make use of the screw slots before securing fast.

Fitted in around 10 minutes. Needed the help of an assistant to hold the loft hatch closed whilst I Fitted the 2 parts in position from inside the loft and it works fine. Holds the weight of the trap door ok. ( mine is around an inch thick but is hollow. ) Simply push the closed door in and it releases from the spring loaded mechanism. It is also hidden from view once the door is closed.

The mechanism itself is good quality and feels sturdy but dont use the flimsy screws provided, they may have been made of playdoh. I was screwing into soft wood which required very little force and the heads were shearing off. I ended up repositioning the catch and using my own screws.

I was at a loss when my old loft hatch broke, this saved the day was easy to install, very pleased with purchase.

Flimsy. Fine maybe for cupboards and hatches that don't have ladders in them. These are not sturdy and bend out of shape very easily.

I'd expected this to be a bit bigger and sturdier. It fails to hold if the house external doors open and there's a slight breeze. The pressure change is enough for it to let the loft Hatch drop down. Gone back to a nice chrome finished bolt instead.

Installed on a hatch on the ceiling covered with gypsum board. Very sturdy.
