Works as a gas cap, level doesn't work too well on my jd 316, maybe if your filler neck is straight up and down it would work better, but my filler neck is slanted so the gas level gets stuck.

It works.. but needed to be shorter. Wrong listing...
While this works. To cap off and seal the tank. It was the wrong length. I had to shorten it to fit. So possibly the wrong listing for the 317's fuel tank. Made it work... The fuel level due to the poor design of the tank will never properly indicate that the tank is full. When fuel is full it reads 1/3rd full...

Does Not Read Fuel Volume Correctly
Not sure if all replacement fuel caps are similar, but this cap is not even close to reading the correct volume in the tank. It seems to be about half out, so a full tank will show a bit less than a half tank of fuel. Seems to seal nice and tight, just don’t count on it to show you the correct volume of fuel.
