Works
I put these on my Honda log splitter as well as my gravel trailer when they were brand new. They worked three years later.

Hour meter review
I installed one on my gas powered pressure washer. It is very easy to assemble and attach it to the spark plug wire as the directions said. An inexpensive way to know how many hours the engine has to better service and maintain it. The display started counting time immediately upon cranking.

No installation instructions
Works , durability unknown . I have installed many of these and its pretty simple. No installation instructions were included for those who need them . Dinged them 1 star for that

easy to install
Very easy to install. Sadly, both my Toro timecutter AND my Craftsman T150 lawn tractor had no hour meter. Now they do!!

A maintenance must have
If you have a flat surface, these are a very easy install. Great for keeping track of hours for maintenance of small engines

Decent budget hour meters, but definitely “you get what you pay for”
I use a lot of hour meters on small engine equipment: mowers, generators, pressure washers, and various other machines that come through my shop. I like to add an hour meter whenever I can so it’s easier to track use and stay on top of maintenance. I’ve tried a bunch of different brands and styles, and I’d put these firmly in the “just okay” category. On the positive side, they do seem to work. I’ve installed several of these and so far I haven’t had any outright failures. They power up, start counting, and seem to keep time reasonably well. For the price, that’s already better than some no-name units that don’t even survive the first project. For basic hour tracking on small engines, they’re serviceable. I like the size of them as well, nice and small, but still readable. That said, there are a few things that keep me from rating them any higher. First, build quality is clearly on the budget side. The housings feel cheap, the plastic doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, and overall they don’t feel like something that’s going to shrug off a lot of abuse, vibration, or long-term exposure on outdoor equipment. They’re fine for now, but nothing about them says “long-lasting” or “heavy duty.” Second, while most of them seem to keep time well enough, I question the accuracy on at least one unit. I have one meter where the displayed hours feel a bit higher than the actual run time I know I’ve put on the engine. I’m going to need to do some more testing with a clock and watch it closely to confirm, but it’s enough to make me a little suspicious. When you’re using these to schedule maintenance, accuracy matters. Functionally, installation is straightforward if you’re used to this kind of inductive/hour meter setup. Wrap the lead, mount the unit, and you’re off to the races. In that respect, they’re no more difficult than any other similar product. For casual users or hobbyists, that’s a plus. I do wish the lead were a bit longer, but that is always situational. In everyday use, they are fine for basic hour tracking, especially if you’re not relying on them as your only source of truth. For my purposes—working on small engines as a hobby and adding hour meters to friend's equipment to help them track usage—they get the job done, but I wouldn’t call them my go-to or favorite option. I’ve definitely used better-built, more confidence-inspiring meters. Pros: • Inexpensive • Easy to install • Generally work and seem to keep time reasonably well (so far) Cons: • Cheap build quality • At least one unit has questionable time accuracy • Doesn’t feel like a long-term, heavy-duty solution Overall: These are usable, budget-friendly hour meters that will probably be “good enough” for light or hobby use. They’re not terrible, but they’re not impressive either. Time will tell how they hold up over the long run. They work, but don’t expect more than basic budget performance.
