Unexpected second chance romance
A lovely second chance romance from determined revenge.Jasmine and Derek were from opposite end of town, her dad being very powerful and one of the richest in town, Derek coming from a normal family with very little money to spare. In theory they were very different, but that didn't stop them falling in love. After school they planned to move away to the city to start a new life together and get married. Somehow it all went wrong and both blamed each other for breaking their hearts. The story picks up 10 years later when Derek gets his revenge by taking over Jasmine's father's business and kicking him out on his ear. He later finds out Jasmine is working there, under a different surname - perfect for his revenge! As normal, everything is not quite what it seems, but a nice easy read which keeps you wondering if they ever will have that happy ever after.

Loved it
Absolutely loved this book and the characters. This had a plot you could believe with romance, steam, family, fluff and past problems eventually talked out. Definitely going to get the next one.

A lovely story
Jasmine's dad sabotage her relationship with Derek for selfish reasons, he is a terrible person to do that to his daughter and I hope he gets what's coming to for all the unhappiness he caused to her, Derek and the other people he wronged. The problem between Jasmine and Derek could have been sorted sooner if they communicate about what what happened but they but both believed they were right about what each other did. The whole situation caused so much lost time between them. Especially for their son but it was good that Jasmine didn't tell the the boy anything bad about his father so the a bond from quickly between them as soon as they met. It is a lovely story. I enjoyed reading it.

Lovely!
Such a lovely read but i do have to say one thing! Why do writers continue to have their leading ladies loose all their brains when the is a panty puddle moment??!! Its so infuriating! 10 years of no contact, and the man who left Jasmine returns to take over her fathers company. Within all that pent up anger she still manages to get laid to the enemy, and not once but several flipping times! That is the worst part of the book! Other than that the story its self was good. I just hate author's making women out to be so bloody easy. What........ are we not capable of living a good life without a drop dead gorgeous piece of testosterone to come save us? Would have been better if she had shown him how hard she had worked with the pregnancy to get where she was. Some verbal communication really does work! Am i the only woman who wouldn't let him come near me when his supposed bit on the side was in his study? Hmmm yeah thats healthy!!! So thats the reason for the low stars! Even Mr Grey respected Anna!!!

Ok - but nothing new or unique
I’ve been trying out a number of authors in the very wide ‘romance’ genre, searching for something new & different ... & this wasn’t it.I choose this based on her NYT best seller status but was sadly disappointed. Not in the prose, which was well written but in the same old/same old regurgitated storyline. I apologise to those who enjoy the formulaic 'romance' trope, in which case - fill your boots, but I get bored easily and it takes more to 'grip' me.Small town boy turned millionaire meets long lost first love who initially despises him because of his past treatment of her, but they’re required to work together .... can you see where this is going. But of course, there is the hidden secret (which I won’t reveal as a spoiler) but it’s not that much of a ‘secret’ in the story anyway which is meant to create the tension/conflict but it's so predictable it’s almost laughable.Come on all of you top-selling best selling authors, please, please, please, can you put your thinking caps on & come up with something unique, original & less predictable next time... instead of churning out the same old formulaic storylines But then, maybe I'm just not the target audience.
