Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Official Behind-The-Scenes Companion

Irrespective of your views on the actual film The Art Of Star Wars The Last Jedi provides a fascinating insight into the moulding of the look and story presented on the cinema screen. I often look forward to these books as much as seeing the film and this one, once again, doesn't disappoint with cover-to-cover concept artwork and text to accompany giving an in depth account of the evolution of the production of the film. As another reviewer quite rightly points out though, benchmarking this book against other Art Of Star Wars books, there is a drop in exploration of ideas - whether that's because there's been a strict selection of what's been released for us to see, or the artists have been limited with the ideas they can experiment with is anyone's guess. Nevertheless, a great coffee table book and a worthy addition to any Star Wars fan's book collection or someone who likes to get an idea of the amount of work that goes on to visualise a director's/writer's vision. Would recommend with no hesitation.

Just received this, and it is MUCH better than the Force Awakens and the Mandalorian artbooks I purchased recently, in terms of concept art, and less dark illustrations. They still have that annoying landscape book layout but that's fine as this book has loads to make up for that, in concept art, costumes, creatures, etc. It's all there and a lot of the illustrations are much brighter to see too. Definitely a good artbook.

A pleasant, well written art book with gorgeous imagery and lots of insightful comments about the film's creative process from the various people over at the Lucasfilm art department as well as writer/director Rian Johnson. A must have for those who enjoyed the Last Jedi or if you enjoy Star Wars overall.

As the previous installments of the "Art of Star Wars" books, it contains a lot of insightful images and colourfull artwork. Only thing I don't like that much is the shape of the book. I still prefer the A4 kinda size books.

This is a perfect gift for any fans of The Last Jedi, or the overall Star Wars franchise.Beautifully illustrated concept art.I highly recommend this product.

If you could just pretend the film itself isn't an abomination, you might at least enjoy this artwork. Much of it looks better in isolation, with the onscreen execution being the problem. There's a lot of interesting art here, and the old Jedi temple Luke chose to hide at looks far better here than in the final film. It's more intriguing as a "what could have been" book really. It gets the pages missing from the previous book, but of course omits its own "spoilery" pages in the process.

Gorgeous collection of Last Jedi concept art that sheds light on the creative process of conceiving both this movie and The Force Awakens. I advise buying The Art of The Force Awakens as well (which I did).

Looks fab! This is a present for my boyfriend I haven't even seen this film but when this arrived I got super excited and stayed up reading it. Brilliant quality

I’m a huge fan of the “Art of Star Wars” books for the new films, especially the sequel trilogy, in that they provide a (gorgeous) glimpse into what could have been, concept and story-wise. Just wish they’d followed through on a lot of these concepts instead of taking the films in the (all-too-familiar, and then totally bizarre and uncharacteristic) direction they wound up taking them in.Some really fun, beautiful, fascinating concepts and images in these books, as well as some insight into the creation/inspiration behind them.Well worth the price tag, and a worthy addition to the library of anyone out there who appreciates the visuals of sci-fi cinema, if not cinema in general.
