Great gun for softer woods.
This nailer is awesome. It is beautifully made and fit and finish are flat out superior. The price is beyond unbelievable. Wow. BUT it will not put a 2" nail through two pieces of 3/4"oak. It jams. When it works, it will not counter sink the nail. Ever. Sure you can finish it off with a nail punch, but that sort of defeats the purpose of a good nailer. It will counter sink in oak if you have a compressor that will go to 135 psi. However you have to get a noisy compressor to do that. I work in a medium size home workshop. Man, that is noisy. The smaller compressors are vastly quieter, and with my other guns they will sink nails in oak quite properly. So..... I'm sending it back, because I do work with hard woods. Yes it will work great for oak trim, but we usually don't use this large a nailer for trim. See what I'm saying. If you are not going to work with hard woods, this gun works flawlessly. Buy this gun. I mean it.This is a sweetheart.

Installed tongue and groove in an entire cabin..
Buying this on Amazon saved a good bit of money. I was able to install tongue and groove in an entire cabin. Still working for occasional use to this day. Just two or three drops of oil before used to ensure you are taking good care of it.

Overall pretty decent
a little weak for really hard or thick stuff (hardwood flooring 3/4" hickory) but got the job done. It was definitely at its limits. Overall pretty decent nailer

Good Value and great performance
I'm pretty particular about buying tools and usually opt for high-end models. But when I need a tool for occasional use, I'm willing to lower my standards. I priced 16 gauge finish nailers at the big box stores and couldn't justify paying $200 - $300 for a pro model. Took a chance on this model and I'm thrilled.Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Loaded a couple nail strips, hooked it up to my compressor and dialed in an air pressure (using the recommendations from the instructions) that gave me good depth results. A few minutes later, all of new trim pieces were securely nailed into place. The trim didn't move and I was able to keep excellent alignment even on my outside corner joints. One of my best tooling purchases in recent memory. Based on the fit and finish, I expect to get my money's worth and then some.

Best buy, perfect tool
Freeman PFN64 16 Gauge 2-1/2-Inch Straight Finish Nailer: I can't believe the price of this thing, it's quick clearing release of the nose makes any problem a quick fix. It don't jamb on it's own, only when you shoot into something the nail won't penetrate; it's light and works perfectly. I wait to review a nail gun of any kind and give it a chance to wear. I have had this over 6 months and use it next to well known brand name guns that shoots the same nail. This gun is still the tool of choice by all. You can't go wrong here. It's easy to see the marketing behind this, make a great gun, price it ridiculously low and let reviews like mine sell it, and it should. Trust me, it will go up in price, if it hasn't already. Great tool.

Great finish nailer for this DIY'r
Just finished my first big project with this nailer and it really delivered. I found it easy to use, no jamming what so ever and lightweight. Nail depth setting was simple and stayed consistent during use. If you are looking for a timesaver for your DIY projects I can easily recommend this nailer.

Disappointing Performer
Professional Carpenter of 12 years here.I bought this nailer because of the 7 year warranty that Freeman offers. I figured that if something broke, no problem, fix it. However, breakage wasn't the issue I had with this gun. When I received the gun, the internal plunger tended to stick. This worked its way out some through a little use and a little oil, however the the gun is advertised as oil less. Upon reading the instructions in more detail, it does in fact specify oiling. This, in itself, is an annoyance because I was hoping to not have to carry around a potentially leaky bottle of lube. The operating pressure required to operate this nailer was about 15psi higher than the Stanley nailer I owned before it. The Freeman PFN64 also had quite a bit more bounce when fired due to the higher firing velocity. Every so often, maybe every 40 or 100 shots, a brad would come partially out and get jammed, requiring disassembly of the nose. The process was easy due to Freeman's tool less design in this area, however very inconvenient especially when with my previous nailer I would shoot thousands of brads without issue. The Freeman, despite the higher operating pressure, had difficulty shooting into oak. Nail head depth likewise seemed to be variable and I found that I had to hand set at least one in 7-10, not just in oak, but pine, cedar, alder. I eventually just jacked up the pressure until all nails were at least flush or absolutely buried into the depths of hell. Maybe I have a lemonish nailer and others perform better. This one is being returned.

Good for the price
Pros: Light weight, Not had a single jam on my first two projects, Comes with a belt hookCons: Nail magazine doesn't open all the way and can make it a pain to insert 2.5" nails, When you release the spring mechanism to force the nails up it slams against the clip of nails and has a tendency to cause them to break in half and push out the backOverall, impressed with the quality for the price. When loading nails, don't let the spring in the magazine slam against the nails and it will work fine. Also, watch the psi from the compressor as anything below 80 and it doesn't push the nail in below the surface.

YOU GET MORE FOR YOUR MONEY
I've got a big renovation to do and was looking for a 16 gauge nailer but couldn't afford the big named brands. But when I came across this baby and read the reviews not to mention the price difference, I jumped to the occasion. Got the unit ahead of the scheduled delivery date which in itself is great. As for the features they are identical as those high end nailers and the unit performs like a charm. I'm very satisfied.
