Sturdy Scope, Convenient Case, Decent Quality
This review is for the binocular version of the microscope. The case is lightweight, but convenient for storage or moving the scope around. It is packed tightly in foam cutouts. The exterior of the case looks nice but it is not a heavy duty case. The microscope itself is mostly metal and feels sturdy. The optics look good and the mechanical movements are smooth. I like the X-Y table. It is easy to operate and helps to locate your specimen. The LED light is bright. Wish it would have an over head light as well. The slide clip is a little finicky on mine. Depending on how you tighten the thumb screws the spring doesn't always push back to tighten on the slide. Overall this seems to be a good microscope, with a good magnification range.

Great tool to explore the world around you
We got this microscope to use just for fun, and it is probably more advanced than it needs to be for our purposes. That being said, this microscope is a great tool for aspiring scientists and curious minds to investigate the microscopic world. The microscope and tools are securely packaged in a heavy duty case that can also be locked (keys included) for added security. The inside of the case is padded, and each component can be tucked away securely when the device is not in use.The microscope operates with an adapter (included), and requires electricity. There is no option to convert to battery power, so just be aware. There are two ocular lenses, allowing for stereoscopic vision and you can adjust the eyepieces to be farther or closer apart. Personally speaking, the stereo vision was hard for me to use, and I ended up closing one eye when observing specimen. The microscope contains four eye lenses (two for each eye piece in two different magnifications) that can be popped into the sockets. However, be aware that these don't "lock" in and may fall out if the microscope gets moved or tilted. In a similar vein, the slide holder doesn't seem to be able to "clamp" down the slides, so they may move if the microscope gets bumped. The brightness of the light source and the focus of the lenses can be adjusted via knobs on the side, and you can also move the stage back and forth by operating a dial. This "kit" also includes 50 additional glass slides and 100 glass cover windows, so that is a nice bonus.I think my biggest gripe about this microscope is that the instructions are extremely rudimentary for such an advanced device. If you are a novice and unfamiliar with how to use a microscope (like us), you will likely have to go seek additional information online in order to get the most out of this device. I would have loved to see more information on how to get the most out of this device, but other than that this will be fun to use for years to come!

Ok microscope with some jarring issues
This is a much better microscope than I used in high school in the 70's. The magnification is good, the images are sharp and the optics seem very good (I'm not a pro). There are some issues that annoy me about this, though.1. The instruction manual is pretty bad. The pictures look like really bad photo copies. But mostly, the manual is for a different product. It's therefore pretty worthless. There are some you tube vids but they're not for the scope I received either.2. The slide holder is incapable of holding slides. The slide mount is not flat so when the holder is screwed to the base the slide can't be held by the holder. The holder is too high (see picture). If you bend the holder it (almost) can be made to work, but not really. Some recommended using a cardboard piece as a slide holder, but then what are you paying for here?3. The binocular eyepieces fold together to fit your eyes. Great for stereo vision. The problem is they don't come close enough for me (or others that tried it) to see thru both eyepieces at the same time. They are about 1/2" too far apart. Maybe you'll have better luck.4. The eyepiece lenses will fall out if the scope is moved away from vertical. Take a piece of felt lined tape and put them on the eyepieces to give them a decent friction fit.Things I like:I really do like that I can place an eyepiece of one power on one side and another power on the other side. The optics are sharp and work well. The led light is more than bright enough for most work. You get a lot of slides and slide covers. Likely more than you will ever use.The case is very nice. Very protective and big enough to hold accessories. If the seller would address the above issues this could be a winner.
