I didn’t know Legends existed until I got this book and hadn’t played Minecraft for a while because it had become a bit samey even though it is still fun.Legends brings in the real time strategy genre that was far more popular in PC gaming days (Age of Empires, Dune). After reading through the book I went to the web and read and watched several walk through sites (of which there are a remarkable number given the game has only just been released).Trying to grasp a game from anything written is somewhat like thinking you can learn how to ride a bike from a manual. You really need to dive in and flounder. Well, that is tonight because we have downloaded the de luxe version to XBox and will be playing Co-op play.This book fits in somewhat like a manual in a plane. A ready reference to refer to when you just don’t know what button to press to handle a situation or which way to pull the yoke.It had the right balance of explanation and colourful visuals and I reckon we will really need it by our sides until play becomes intuitive. So I have got a second copy so each has one alongside.If Minecraft is like playing sandcastles on a beach, Legends is more like being a participant in an action movie. But this is real time strategy and far more interesting than shoot ‘em up style play. It needs you to have your wits about you.I have worked through the book about three times now and we have not yet booted up the game. It will be chaos to start with but this does seem to set out the structure of the game and the nature of gameplay as well as clear visuals of the map, what to obtain where in terms of resources and how to make what is needed and the various characters. It is less complicated than some of the web sites, which seemed to assume some knowledge of a game that only launched on 18 April 2023 (a week ago).Overall not only did the book enable me to discover the game but it presents as an invaluable manual to have to hand for gameplay without overcomplicating a game that to start with will already seem multi faceted.

The recently released video game Minecraft Legends can be a fairly complicated game to learn and understand, even for me as a gamer of many....years, so when I tried introducing my now 9yr old nephew to it along with his mum (my sister) the in game tutorial really was not quite good enough. Thankfully however this guide book at a very affordable price, has been a constant and great help when playing the game together. Beautifully illustrated and well structed, this guide book not only has tips and advice for how to play the game, but it also breaks down the different locations in the game as well as a deep dive for all the monsters and characters you will come across in the game, making it a fun learning experience whilst playing or before playing a session of the game. My Nephew used this and was coming up with his own strategies to "help me" play as well, which just enhanced the playing for us both. A fantastic and again, very affordable companion to have for this game no matter how old you are or what platform you are playing this on.

Great little book for all minecrafters

An excellent guide to Minecraft legend. Is well published and is a good quality book. Has everything you'll need to help you play Minecraft legends. Is suitable for all ages of people who play Minecraft legends as is colourful and well laid out. A great guide.

The media could not be loaded.  A bright and colourful guide to the latest Minecraft game, this informative, fully illustrated book will definitely be of interest to younger players. The book features a bold, colourful hardback cover and comes in a smaller format than the usual game guides, measuring around 22cm tall. There's 96 full colour pages throughout, featuring character bios, weapons, crafting, locations and even boss battles! My 8 year old daughter loves this book - it's full of pictures and the information is short, easy to digest and to the point. She recently got the Minecraft Legends game and now keeps this book with her when she plays - she's found it to be quite helpful. It's a great little guide for younger players and currently priced at £7.62, it's great value too.
