Frigidaire Professional Stainless 7 Quart Slow Cooker

I love this large slow cooker because it doesn't overcook your food! I bought my mother a Rival brand Crock Pot, simliar size and shape, and was dismayed to find that every dish we made in it was overcooked and most ingredients had turned to mush. Using some of the same recipes and cooking times in this unit, it cooked them perfectly. I had read that minimum temperature requirements in slow cookers had been increased for food safety in the last ten years or so, and being in the market for a large unit I didn't want one that overcooked everything. I took a chance on this one, since none of the reviews mentioned food being overcooked. I've been pleased with everything I've cooked in it, particularly a shrimp creole with carrots, peppers and onions that retains some texture in this model but was pure mush in my mother's CrockPot. It's a nice size for making large meals (I love to make enough for leftovers), looks nice, and I happen to like the simple controls (admittedly I'm lucky enough to be at home all day and don't require programmable controls). I also appreciate having a red light that shows when the appliance is turned on. I was a little surprised at the high cost (it was even more expensive when I bought it last year) but for me it's been worth every penny.The above comments refer to cooking on LOW; I have not used the HIGH setting.

This is just the right slow cooker I was looking for. My old (ancient) one was the larger size and I like to make big roasts so when I saw the 7 quart I grabbed it. No pre-set timers, added bells or whistles, or extra gadgets I find useless. Just low, high and warm. Does the trick. I've only used it once and so far its perfect. FYI, easy to clean too.

Only downside.... Wish it had a locking lid.

The lid does not fit properly.

Bigger then a 6qt.and works great!. Settings low .medium and high.Simple, reliable.Makes a great bowl of stew or chili.My wife loves it.

If your looking for a 7 court slow cooker this is the one to buy. Its nothing fancy and does the job well

Sent it back. Much larger than I pictured it. If you want large it's your pot.
