Space And Beyond (Choose Your Own Adventure)

Who else has fond memories of the Choose Your Own Adventure series?I used to absolutely adore them as a child and so eagerly purchased this particular offering as an un-birthday present for my six year old eldest son. He loves to read, and I thought that the variety of endings might really please him as it used to me.Initially he was baffled by the choice concept but soon got into it. It's quite self explanatory.The stories are so much shorter than I had recalled, though that does mean it's good if you do 'one more before bed'!The actual writing and plot lines, though, is entirely hopeless. Thankfully a six year old doesn't discern that too much, but wow...I'm surprised I ever liked them!The choices are silly sometimes and often the endings are so unimaginative that you have to wonder if the author just gave up. It must be hard writing so many that intertwine, but wow...I've given it four stars as it does was it says on the tin, made for a happy six year old and the nostalgia clouds my judgment.

It's smaller than expected but still a good read, funny and I'm guessing exciting for children.

Bought as a Christmas present for a ten year old and he tells me he loves it.

WOW, I thought I had landed on Mars until I chose page 27 instead of page 104. How disappointing that was to have your dreams shattered in such a way. Please add a warning with these books and permanent mental damage may be caused.

Bought as a gift / great fun

It costs twice as much as the original realese of the book, and nearly twice as much as you would pay buying a copy from a new or used seller, even factoring, or twice as much (or often quite a lot more!) than several perfectly good kindle choose your own books. I thought Kindle editions were supposed to be cheaper?For that amount you get a book that does not work with the kindle. Each "page" is grossly mis sized, with the text being skewered, the section number and parts of the text missing, and the choices don't actually work (its a standard with these books that you click a choice and it takes you to the approite page, since the allterntive is to furiously stab the page forward button back and fourth, but this premium priced book omits this essintial feature), forcing you to flick through the book in an extremely cumbersome, bothersome, immersion breaking way, and at the end of the day its basically like reading the book, only with much more difficulty and hassle than what you would get if you had paid for something less......With this in mind, I cannot give this product a score higher than 1/5 until these bugs are fixed.

absolutely awesome the decisions you can make are great and really help you get into the read and makes it alot more enjoyable!
