We set this up in my 5 year old sons calming corner and it works very well. It gives him something else to focus on and the soothing sounds help to calm him down. Perfect size for a toddler

I have been into tongue drums for quite some time now & after experimenting with several steel tongue drums from different brands and sizes, I've gained some valuable insights. Here's a quick recap of my journey:I started by purchasing a variety of drums to compare their qualities. Generally, the drums I tried had similar issues. They often produced a tinny sound, and many had notes that didn't work properly, aka dead notes. Additionally, I noticed that the build quality varied, with some drums having problems like weaving coming off around the edges.This experience led me to explore the advice of experts, who suggested that the size of the drum isn't the only important factor. The shape and material of smaller drums might offer better sound quality. With this new perspective, I decided to try out smaller drums.Among these, I encountered a 8" drum that had a pleasant, sweet sound, but it struggled with a few notes, particularly the higher ones. However, my search ended when I discovered the Balmy Drum, a 10" 11 Tones model. This drum stood out from the rest. Not only was it reasonably priced, but it also had no issues with dead notes. Its sound was beautiful, full, and clear.In conclusion, the Balmy Drum proved to be the best among all the options I tried. Its perfect blend of sound quality, build, and value made it a clear winner. This journey has been enlightening, and I hope my experience helps anyone looking for the right steel tongue drum. And for anyone wondering, later I tried their 6" and 14" versions as well, and they are a solid option too.

We are SO pleased with this purchase. It kept the attention of our very busy 5-year-old grandson frequently throughout a 4-day stay at Camp MeeMaw Grandpa! The 3-year-old even had fun with it, playing and singing simultaneously, but not striving for a song!! This is well worth the purchase for a calming, musical experience that is being enjoyed by our grandchildren as well as MeeMaw and Grandpa!!

Expensive for the quality

We recently purchased this steel drum online, and I can't even begin to tell you how much my daughter is enjoying it! 😍 She's been having an absolute blast, and I just had to share our experience with you all.The sound quality is fantastic - so clear and vibrant. It's truly a delight to hear her play! 🎵 Not to mention, the steel drum came with a handy book of melodies, which she's been enthusiastically exploring. 📖If you're considering getting a steel drum for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend this one. the 14 notes are nice to have. well made, looks nice, booklet is not particularly useful. sounds are generally clean and clear except for the center note which is somewhat dull.wish they also would make a 15 "three octave black piano note" pentatonic one as well. that would allow one to play two together, side by side, as if it were two steel drums. that would enable one to play virtually any song if one has a musical background and understand signatures.

What a wonderful tone. Very easy to use and learn. My four year old grandson played with it for over an hour. Using the book to learn the songs thru matching numbers was nice but it would be better to have had the letters of the notes or sounds to teach him on a scale. Or the music book to have the numbers written on a musical scale. Great start though.All in all very satisfied
