Excellent Tool !!! Well Thought Out!!!
Well, I just received my Senco Finish Pro 18Mg in the mail today, I've been anxiously awaiting it since I ordered it several days ago. I went with Amazon's free shipping and it took a few days, but it was worth saving the money to me. My previous finish gun, which I've been using for about 15 yrs, finally died and I've been without one for about two weeks, which is tough. I'm a professional kitchen and bath remodeler, and it's necessary for me to have, so I've been using my other guns or borrowing one while I wait.I'm the type of contractor who likes to buy the best quality tools for the job, I take a lot of pride in my work and having the best tools saves me time, makes me more efficient, and allows me to do the quality work that keeps my phone ringing with more jobs. I do a LOT of research before I make my purchases and this one was no exception. Many of the tool reviews you'll read on 18Ga brad nailers will tell you that just about all the better quality tool makers make a good one, and they will all fire the nails well. A brad nailer is a simple tool and they're kind of difficult to screw up. This has been my experience as well, so for me, it mostly comes down to the comfort and features the gun has. My 18Ga brad nailer is, by far, the nail gun that gets the most use, so having one that has the best features, makes a huge difference for me over the life of the tool. I compared the features of this tool with all the others on the market, and this one won out, so I ordered it.I was more than pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find out that it not only had all the features that I read about, but many more that I like, that weren't in the reviews I read, so I figured I'd add this review so that more discriminating tradesman like myself, would know. Another Contractor that I work with only uses Senco nailers, he's had only good experiences with them, so I already knew about their brand quality. This model, however, is an upgrade over the one he has, which I've used many times. It comes with a well thought out hard plastic case with places for the manual, wrenches, and some nails, a necessity for me. It is well designed and comfortable to hold, and the magnesium body makes it extremely lightweight, surprisingly so. It has nice no-mar plastic bumper that can be removed and stored on the back of the tool. It came with an extra one on the tool which I took off and stored in the ziplock bag with the manual. That way if I decide to remove mine while I'm working, I'll have a place on the tool to put it so it won't get lost on the job-site. The air exhaust is on the back of the tool, which I thought I might not like, but I see now that the exhaust port is on a very cleverly designed ring that can be directed anywhere I'd like, a nice touch. The belt hook is also adjustable so it can be rotated to the top or either side of the tool, very handy when working on a ladder. It has easy-to-operate tool-less jam clearing, a big time-saver on the job, and also tool-free depth adjusting and a nice switch for single fire or bump-fire. A nice touch, also, is the swiveling air connector that already came installed on the tool. Many nailers come without any. Another plus is that it'll fire brads from 5/8" all the way up to 2 1/8", many others stop at 2". I rarely use longer than 2" brads, but it's nice to know I can. The magazine release is simple to grab and easy to operate. It has an oil-free motor, so less maintenance and no oil spray on my woodwork. About the ONLY feature this tool doesn't have that I might like, is that it WILL fire when the magazine is empty (dry-fire), I checked. Might've been a nice feature to have, but I've not had it before, so I'm used to working without it. It does, however, have an easy-to-see indicator when the nails are out.Over-all, I'm extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to many years with this tool. Slightly sad to retire my old workhorse brad gun, but excited to work with this one......Now back to work.

Shot one into my thumb nail within 10 minutes of opening
It's very light, yet robust; angled it wrong while incorrectly holding a shelf I was building, did not get tetanus or need medical attention.

Senco 18 gauge brad nailer
I bought this to replace a porter cable nailer that was leaking air after several years of use. I've used Senco nailers for framing and they've been pretty reliable. So far this is a nice nailer. Exhaust is directed out the rear of the gun. Which is a nice feature. It's also oil less.Update.... less than one month after receiving this nail, it has failed. Leaking air and won't reset the driver if plugged in to compressor.

Very good quality, incredible usefulness
I should categories my review into 3 sections for the novice, intermediate, and professional...almost without exception I use the product for at least a few months before I give my opinion. Having said that, I have only used this for a couple of months, but it has performed flawlessly and has saved SO much time in my projects, I have to write this review.Novice: If you have never had a brad nailer to help with small wood-working projects and many many other applications, you will regret not getting one sooner. The minute you use one to immediately build a quick wood jig or hold almost any wood pieces together without glue or screws, temporary or otherwise, or drilled pilot holes for screws, etc., etc., you will never give it up. ...so read on to see where this one fits in according to me.Intermediate: I am not a professional. So, this category of my review is probably most applicable. After a fair amount of research and some hands-on comparison to other home depot brands, etc., I chose this one because it had a fairly obvious quality reputation in the professional world. I cannot say I have used this on a continuous basis for hours at a time, or daily, but I have used it for many short applications and it has a great feel and has performed perfectly. The adjustments of trigger action (automatic/manual, etc.) have worked perfectly, and the depth of the brad have been easy to adjust throughout the range of 3/4" to 2" that I have used with different wood (pine, fir, alder, maple, etc.).I am using nothing special in the compressor...20 gallon upright running 90 psi typical. The brad nailer uses virtually nothing in the tank even with 50-60 shots.Professional: Not a lot I can say here other than some of the other brands didn't have the same feel of quality. I certainly don't know if this one will last on a day-to-day basis over a year or more, but it seems to be of a higher quality compared to the typical home depot selection. I'm sorry, but I don't have more experience with this item to go further with my review.I would say for the price of less than $100 dollars this unit has easily paid for itself in time savings alone in the last 2 months.

Solid
Have been using this on a cabinet project. No jams, and brad leaves a small entrance hole. It is also consistent brad to brad as far as depth does.
