Surf Accessories Northcore Ding Tape

Ideal for small cracks or dings. A child stood on my custom ordered board in the shop which staff had left lying on a concrete floor, while I was chatting to staff out front. They damaged the base of the board, a couple of inch long cracks appeared, which started to de-laminate the base in a small area. I bought this tape as a temporary repair solution until I had time to drill a couple of small holes and inject resin to correct the de-lam, but 8 months later and the de-lamination hasn't increased in size at all, so I'll leave the repair until I have some proper time to do the job properly. The board has been used about 12 times in that period, so clearly the tape does it's job.Worth noting, I put pressure on the area as I was applying the tape to force out air, best to force air out if you can. I also precut the corners to make them rounded making it less likely that the tape would peel off.

Great product and easy to use!

I bought a second-hand board recently and came across some signs of dings. I decided to cover the suspect areas with this tape. I cleaned the areas with methylated spirit and applied the tape. The tape is really strong and gives a watertight seal. I use the board 3 or 4 times a week and the tape is still stuck fast.

Perfect, I actually used it as 'rail tape' substitute, preventative protection rather than fixing a ding. I incorporated a bunch of dog hairs when I applied it so not the prettiest, but can't really blame this on the manufacturers. It's had a month of regular use and no sign of peeling or yellowing.

It’s ok. Doesn’t manage tight curves on ends well, not edges without cutting section lengths carefully to avoid bunching. Sorry to say it, I kinda prefer gorilla tape as is bender and easier to manipulate.

As advertised water tight. Doesn't peel and water doesn't go in. Use for repair on the go, must be then properly changed and if for surfboard then repair with resin.

This stuff is great for rail cracks. Holds like a champ. Comes off without any mess. Yes kids you still need to repair your boards!

Hatte mir einen 3cm langen Schlitz ins dünne CFK Rennkajak gerammt und wollte dann aber bis zu ;vernünftigen Reparatur nicht aufs Training verzichten, daher habe ich dieses Tape genutzt. Es sitzt schon 2 Monate bombenfest drauf, was wiederum dazu führt, dass ich die eigentliche Reparatur immer wieder nach hinten verschiebe ... ebenso habe ich einen Spidercrack damit verarztet.---- update:18 Monate später ist das Tape immer noch auf der Stelle und hält bombenfest und habe (vielleicht auch weil es so eine preiswerte Lösung ist?) sie immer noch nicht "sachgemäß" reparieren lassen... und das Boot ist 2-3 Woche im Wasser, Sommer wie Winter.Ich habe damals wegen des hohen Preises 4 Sterne gegeben. Da es immer noch hält, habe ich nun 5 Sterne vergeben. Die Frage "Warum nur 4 Sterne" in den Kommentaren war berechtigt.
