The length of the leash is just right and the leash and the included carabiner seem to withstand salt water use so far. I note that the advertised paddle gripping capability of the leash really doesn’t work. After paddling a short distance it comes loose and slides along the paddle shaft. This really doesn’t bother me all that much beyond the fact that the seller says it will do something that it won’t do. I have not used the second leash in the package, but it’s nice having a spare.

According to Amazon, 3 stars means "it's okay," and that's what these were. I had read about length being an issue for some paddlers, and I am tall and use a LONG paddle, so I had similar concerns, but the seller was EXTREMELY responsive in answering my pre-purchase questions, so I decided to give these a try. I love supporting small businesses, fellow enthusiasts, and made in the USA products, so I really, really wanted to like these. Unfortunately, it wasn't mean to be.The Good:-lightweight-excellent build quality-good length (for paddle leashes, at least)-very nice, high quality carabiner-a ton of value for the low priceThe Bad:In attaching these as per the instructions/photos, they will not stay in place on the paddle. They loosen within a few paddle strokes and slide back and forth on the paddle shaft. (These were tried on paddles with both carbon and fiberglass shafts with the same result...we did not have an aluminum shaft paddle to try.) Unfortunately, I spent about 4 hours on the lake, and I couldn't make it stick in place. I tried positioning the leash over the spring button on the shaft, wetting the leash at the end that mounts to the paddle, spinning the leash around to try the other end, etc. Nothing worked.This leash is great quality, but if it won't stay in place, it's as good as useless. After about 5 paddle strokes, the leash would be consistently loose. I ended up throwing it in the hatch after a few hours of frustration. I would rather risk loosing a paddle than deal with a leash that won't stay in place.

Nothing fancy but what it does it does very well.I like the shrunken length when using the paddle keeper and I like how it stretches out long enough to not be noticeable , as if there's nothing attached but I have the mental comfort of knowing my paddle is nicely leashed to my boat should something bad happen. I'll have to wait until next spring to try it out as a wading leash but for what I bought it for, peace of mind about my paddle not getting away from me, it was well worth the few bucks it cost. When I go fishing in the kayak I fully plan to use the second one that came with it and loop it through the bungee system if I don't feel like looking for another D ring before leaving shore. The ways to attach, the things you can attach are both about as limitless as the imagination can come up with.Great product.

This comes with 2 equal length leashes (dark green) and one medium sized Carabiner (Red) It's elastic, so you can stretch it and it returns to it's original length. If you want, you can attach two of them together and make one long leash. You could use these for multiple purposes. To tie off your kayak, your paddle, your rod, a storage bag or even some tools such as fishing pliers or any other item that you don't want to drop into the great abyss. It's happened on more than one occasion that while fishing I looked back to see my paddle floating away. Luckily it has always been within a fishing rods length away so I could retrieve it. But I don't want to take that risk any longer and this leash does the trick.

I like the strength and stretchability of these paddle/fishing pole leashes. I used them on my kayak as a leash for my paddle and fishing pole so, I never loose them if they fall from the kayak into the water and I can retrieve them easily.

What an incredible value. These are super sturdy and worth every penny. I feel confident leashing my paddle everyone I go out. Would recommend to anyone.

If you've ever found yourself in a lake without a paddle (or any water for that matter), you know how awful it is to have to jump overboard and drag your boat to shore.When out on a large lake recently, a speedboat rushed past, creating a wake large enough to wash my paddle clean out of my hands. Thankfully this leash saved my paddle from floating away, and I safely retrieved the paddle and carried on.When kayaking, it's not always easy to carry collapsible spare paddles.. With this leash, I can be assured I'll never lose my paddle again!

I have used a pair of these for a few years now. They work well. Very stretchy and it’s not a hassle to have them on. Saved my paddle a few times. I kayak fish a lot.
