I Regret Buying This.Painting – Caution – WarningWhen painting, our child used a smock, in secure area, as the paint is permanent and can stain clothes (wash clothes within the hour). Have a cup of water and paper towels ready. Spills also stain. Best to cover the area where are you are painting. A glitter gel pen makes the artwork sparkle. So, we had no issue, at first.Criticisms?I really do not like the idea of the permanent paint. We really had to prep before and wash afterwards. Otherwise, this kit was enjoyed.Thoughts?Although this is very nice multi-craft kit that stimulated lots of excitement with the children. It’s an educational experience for children to build, paint, and even grow something, in a castle and playland theme. The wooden parts of this kit are ready to paint, decorate. Instructions are colorful and easy to follow. Out little one goes right for the instructions right away, to work independently. However, this is also an activity that involves the family, allowing children to build on their group activity skills and participation.The Chia seeds are grown in the USA and ours sprouted in a couple of days, it’s amazing.When all is done, the children continue to play, keeping them engaged. At first, I thought yes. I can find little fault, other than about the paint, which came back to haunt us.Our regrets for getting this.Somehow, as children normally do, they all like to participate. There was an accident with the paint. Our toddler tried to save the day, by getting a large custom bath towel to sop-up the mess. It ruined the towel. But the big catastrophe was that the child who dumped the paint, also carried the mess into the living room, tracking it. The cost to replace that portion of the carpeting was estimated in the thousands of dollars.With all the technological advances that exist, why did the paint supplied have to be permanent? I have adjusted my thoughts on this, through the star rating. I did not see the warning in the listing, as it was in an inconspicuous place, rather than at the start of the listing.I hope my thoughts added information to consider.

My kids absolutely loved this little kit! It was fairly easy to use and put together/decorate. I will however warn that it does have quite a few pieces and some of them very small, so use caution if you're doing this craft around really young ones.

This set makes a nice gift for kids who like unicorns. It's got different activities to keep the children busy for a few afternoons. You can paint, decorate, and/or grow plants in it. Kids will have fun decorating their planter and then seeing their seeds grow into plants.

This kit makes a great long-term project to work on with your little one. I picked it up for my niece so that we would have something to work on for the week I was visiting. There were some parts of the project that my niece could easily do herself including the painting and the decorating. The assembly required both sets of our hands and we had to be very careful not to snap any of the wood pieces while trying to get them to fit in place. I also helped with the planting so that I could explain how to take care of the plants so that they would live longer and how long it takes plants to grow, etc. We had a lot of fun spending some time every day assembling this kit and watching it slowly come to life before our eyes. This kit would be a great activity to use during summer vacation or for homeschooling parents.The kit is quite expensive for what was included inside. I was expecting more durable items and just more items inside the kit. The wood is quite thin, but will assemble just fine. I don't recommend moving the pieces around or playing with it after it is assembled, however, as it will probably break. If the wood was a little thicker, little hands could move pieces around while waiting for the plants to grow. I purchased additional paint and stickers as my niece needed more to complete the kit to her satisfaction. I love the idea of the kit and do think it makes a great gift, but it would be a better value with better quality items inside.

My 6 and 12 year old are very into crafting. The 6 year old has a big interest in fairies and gardening, my 12 year old has passed the fairy stage but it’s definitely still in her heart and apart of her creativity. Im excited! I think this is something they’ll enjoy doing together and keep them busy during spring break.Update: We completed the thing! The bottom land plate was a bit warped which was initially an issue but as we went on assembling everything was held firm in place. We did break one of the holders of the rainbow. It worked out ok also. All in all, very satisfying watching it come to life! My kids are so excited about the creativity and play value. My little has a green thumb so she LOVES the idea of taking care of the seeds/baby plants. The mixture of stickers is such a fun touch; it gives the castle a more cartoon element. Such a fun creative activity for kids! And would make a fantastic gift for friends!
