DEFECTIVE
NO STAR RATING SHOULD BE ALLOWED!! I bought these for a friend and he just told me they broke as soon as he replaced them and turned on the compressor. He contacted the manufacturer directly but was told these valves have been a problem but he has to got through Amazon for replacement/return. Now he is stuck with 2 broken valves as the return window for these has closed. How do we get this resolved???

Opens at 145psi
Safety valve blew at 145psi not 175psi. Stamped for 175psi and description was for 175psi. Compressor got to 145psi and blew this valve open.

Equivalent to OE Craftsman
This was used to repair a ~20 year old Craftsman compressor.The OE part number was decoded to a 175PSIG relief valve with 1/4NPT thread.Original one started weeping, presumably from either the seat getting dirty or simply wearing out, maybe compounded by the spring relaxing. Still held ~130PSIG though, but I really wanted it to hold 140+PSIG (where the compressor auto-switches off). Lot of extra run time to lose 10PSIG every cycle.This is a quality made in USA part. It is very similar in size and construction to the OE Craftsman part.For installation, I used a couple turns of Teflon tape coated with Teflon thread paste. Just snug and no leaks. I also like to dab a bit of silicone grease in with a q-tip.
