what is the diameter of the bar?

Mine has twin bars. The inner bar is 12 mm and the outer is 20mm diameter.

Does the single bar come in one piece, I see from one of the reviews that it may not but can't see anything in the details

This 75 cm towel rail comes in one piece. We have the same style of two-piece towel rails, but they are different sizes.

Measurement between circular fixings is 19 7/8 inches. Make sure you get the internal wall fittings the correct way round .

Is glue or whatever is needed to avoid drilling provided. Also can it be removed from the wall if needed without damaging tiles or wall

There is no glue with this item, it has to be drilled into the wall. It is a good little towel rail, just big enough for a hand towel, I have mine in my kitchen.
